Setting up a new room 7`x14`

I think this is my longterm solution, ill just wrap the duct with some insulation.

So heres my heatbag moment of the week.

Went outside late last night to smoke one under the stars with the wife , i dont usually spend much time outside late at night, especially on work days. Anyway, after im done smoking and on my way back inside , i notice a glow comin from the end of my house , yep you guessed it, when my exhaust and intake fans were kicking in, the intake side was opening a portal to my grow room and it was sending off a signal to the community like the fucking bat signal.

Anyway, i laughed even harder cause i was baked, it was funny, maybe you had to be there lol

whew, got lucky there. I don't know what kind of protection circuit they put in there but it looks like it worked. lol
Ya, they have all sorts of protection. They shut down instantly, but the output capacitor delivers a healthy spark.... it'll scare ya!

Did it do that through the dust shroom? Didn't you plan on a metal shroud over the dust shroom for protection from weather?

Do you think enough light could get in on a sunny day to mess with a dark cycle?

You could put a bendy bit on the duct with a few adjustable elbows on the inside, spray the inside with flat black paint and use it to direct airflow as well. A good bend with the black paint outta minimize any light getting through.

A more extensive light trap could be a box with a baffle and the black paint in the inside.

Just tossing out ideas.

Dustshroom still hasnt arrived, my buddy wants to see it before he makes a shroud, so for now im using a tshirt on the inside of the room, over end of duct

Yes it will def mess with lights off schedule whenever intake is running, def too much light getting through.

short term, until dustshroom gets here, im gonna make a S trap in the duct, i think that should take care of it.

So i decided i cant wait for the new manifolds, gonna attempt to use the cheapos i bought .

I went looking for 1" pvc and wasnt a piece to buy in town anywhere, i did find some 3/4" tho. The grey stuff

Will this still be fine? obv ill know for sure once i hook it up, just wondering if any of you have used 3/4 to run your auto watering lines

Can someone verify that this design will work please @gr865 @Renfro

pvc is 3/4" from the pump and the loop , reducing down to 1/2" riser and down to 1/4" lines to the pots from manifolds.

Auto water.png @TintEastwood did i remember you mentioning you had a chiller? if thats correct, could you link me to it? i think im gonna have issues keeping temps down in my res with it in the room. So gonna just buy a chiller to avoid any craziness lol

why the loop of PVC? Just make a TEE. It's not like you have a bunch of takeoffs.

I went with the loop Cause I was told numerous times a loop was required for even flow to separate manifolds lol. Does that not really apply to my situation?

So you think I can just go from pump straight up and T off to both manifolds?

Is that what your saying ?
The chiller you buy will have a recommendation for the GPH of the pump. Use a dedicated pump to send to the chiller and let it come back as a waterfall into the res.
Ok will def do this. I'll check what pump I need and order both at same time. Do chilllers require any other parts or lines or anything that I might not be able to buy locally?

Thanks for link, that's the one I was looking at on amazon, it's 549.99 cad.

Hey man keep up us updated on what works and doesn't for your drip system as I need someone to copy lol. You need to go get some 6 inch duct work and make some bends in it even the flex duct would work to help with that light problem, also helps direct the intake air whatever direction you want it.

I just lowered my lights down again btw(don't have a thread of my own up yet figured would keep ya updated since we talked about it in here before) and I got them between 30-36 inches away, never thought would get em that close but really with the AC it's not hard at all. I've come to the conclusion that you could most def run DE 1000 with an 8 foot ceiling unless that extra head space helps dissipate heat but the bar my lights are mounted on is lower than 8 ft now. Of course my plants are on the floor and only got about 3 ft tall.

After seeing you guys talk about lux I downloaded the meter on my phone and man I can't get over how cool this thing is whether it accurate or not it helps see the footprint of the light. I'm now 40-50k lux at the tops and also.looks like great penetration.

40-50k at 30" + is pretty freakin good man lol. Did you check down in the canopy just to see what type of penetration you were getting?

Ill let you know how the water setup goes. Im gonna run it in a Tee as renfro mentioned, attach a couple ball valves to each line so i can control flow rate.

Yep, i used a piece of 6" flex and created a S, it seems to be working. No Bat Signals so far tonight lol

What @Renfro said. Good choice the black Active Aqua 1/4 horse. Super easy setup.

Me lil 10gal res with 1/10th chiller attached. Very small recirc pump with waterfall pisser.
Now...also bubbling with couple airstones.

the 1/4 is $714.99

it says rated of flow is 264-660 gph....does this mean i need a pump thats inside those perimeters? @Renfro is this what you were referring to earlier?
I may have goofed on the hp. Not sure what size you are getting.

Yes. A pump in that range should do it. I'm running mine 24/7. For power and heat reasons I went with a very small pump. But... Bigger pump would provide better waterfall action... and res size factors in too.

I qualify. Imma chiller noob...only a few months of experience. :blsmoke:

im getting whatever size you guys tell me i need lol

Its gonna be chilling a 50 gallon res right now, but in the near future when i begin running ebb and flow, each table will have a 50-80 g res. So maybe theres a bigger version that i can buy and be able to run the 3 reservoirs through? not sure if thats even possible

Baked again now, all full of ideas and im on Amazon, cant wait until tomorrow to see what i bought lol

I played around a lil more with the meter it was mostly in the 40-45k range at tops not sure where I thought got a reading of 50k but got a lil excited I guess lol. Anyways it's reaching down pretty good and i did just defoliate. So 20k pretty far down into plants I'll.play around a lil more. I hope I didn't defoliate too hard as leaves aren't growing back as fast as I'm used too but I always felt left a lil too much before and it filled right back in blocking more light. I guess time will tell but I always get nervous on week 4-6 cause visually there is not as much difference from day to day as in the beginning. I never planned on being able to get these lights down this far and also the plants being so short, I barely got enough cord and my fans are placed a lil high. I think I'll run up to grow store on Sunday and buy new hurricane wall mount fan as my old fans are on last legs anyways.

I'll let others help on sizing.

Argggh.. I wanted a 1/4 horse but the amp draw was noticeably higher than the 1/10th horse. Nearing my circuit limit....

I'm hoping to avoid a chiller wondering about placing Rez out of room but would need to be strong pump and not sure about leaving the water set in that long of a run of pipe.
