Setting up a 70w hps for side lighting

I plan to have 2 70w bulbs for side lighting, but im not sure how it works. Does it require a small ballast or could i just find a lamp for it?

Every hps/mh requires a ballast to fire up right.

i have a 70w hps lamp the ballast is built into the hood/casing......its a security type light,i use mine on the floor shining up under the canopy to help the lower buds get some light.with my 250w hps up top.

ya, you can get 70w security lights that come with ballast, also if you can get 100w security light with ballast, they make 100w grow lights with more red spectrum and lumens.

i have got a 400w mh that is in a case with built in ballast,its the same kind that are used in warehouses.so i guess they do all wattages and both mh/hps.

I have two 70 watt HPS above 4 plants in 2x2-ish space. They are complete assemblies with ballast & reflector that I bought at the Depot. I have 3 big(42w I think) 2700k CFL's for side lighting, two on the outside, and one in the middle of the 4 plants. Veg is great, plants are bushier than my outdoor grow finished last year. About to switch them to 12/12 this weekend

Anybody know a good website to get grow-spec'd 70w hps lights and ballasts?
