SensiStans "Balls to the Walls" 2011 Indoor Soil Grow!

Hey RIU ! its time for me to start my 2011 thread, which i hope will show more experience , quality and quantity than any of my previous grows. In my last few threads/grows i have focused on stealth, cost effectiveness and quality personal stash.

This time round however things are different. I have more money at my disposal, more knowledge and experience at my side and i plan on doing big things with these wonderful tools. Those who have played a part in my education should be thanked at this point, not all of them by name as there are far too many !! you will all know who you are as you will be invited shortly

My hopes for this year are to create a more efficient , lower mantainence grow wardrobe . with a more complex ventilation system more efficient lighting and a perpetual harvest of genetically identical Barneys LSD Buds . Of course quality and quantity will be important and i think it will be a fun grow to watch over the summer period. After all all of my previous grows were done on a tiny budget, even i am curious too see what i can do with better equipment etc

So with all that said , Welcome to my 2011 "Balls to the Walls" Grow. There will be more information on the specifications of this "wonder grow wardrobe" to follow and also a secret winter project that many of you will find rather interesting ....

An update on my recent growing exploits should probably be included as a taster of what is to come ...

On the 28th of december a friend of mine suddenly had to make 4 , already vegged, Amnesia Lemon haze plants dissapear. he destroyed 3 of them and i reluctantly accepted the healthiest looking one (none of them looked very healthy , in fact i have a picture of how it looked when she first arrived )



I was reluctant to grow in the winter as it involved keeping windows open and allowing -9 degree Celcius air into the grow area in the daytime which as most of u will know isnt ideal if you want to keep a constant 26-29 degree celcius up in the day, this coupled with cold night time temperature was a constant worry. But miraculously temperatures were in a safe range most of the time as i was constantly watching the temperatures .

After a week of settling into her new home she looked something like this :




After a week of "intensive care" after the stress of being driven to me on the back seat of a car with a bin bag over it, being brutally topped and Lst'd by me , low temperatures and a watering method (thank you riddleme) called making it rain , i had brought her back to her full glory The lightcycle was set to 12/12 from the day i took ownership .

Truth be told i could go on for hours about this grow but im just going to hurry it along and show you the final product. this is just a taste of whats to come after all

week 9 of flowering :



These plants were harvested at week 10 of flowering, if anybody wants i can show pictures of the finished and cured product, its very nice and it does what it says on the label.

The point in me posting this is to prove that if in the worst conditions with the poorest equipment i can still come out with super potent weed , what will it look like when i invest some more cash into the venture ? I harvested 3.5 ounces off of this one Lst'd and topped lemon amnesia .

I do have some designs on the next grow area, or should i say areas .... i havent thought my veg area through properly yet so once i have there will be more information , sheduled start date for this grow is 01/04/2011 and i plan on perpetually harvesting until November 2011 . and i have an ASSLOAD to do between now and the first of april. and i will update any who are interested as much as possible. Its time for me to revolutionize my marijuana supply

Haha , i know what you mean , i was just looking at a friend of mines grow in complete awe but the people that will hopefully have a presence on this thread are all knowledgable people , i like to think i know a few things myself

I can't wait to see what you come up with. That plant looked yummy.

I actually forgot i had started a new thread as shortly after my first few posts, some friends ambushed me with drugs and alcahol and i lost the rest of my weekend :S .... Before i start the smoke report i must say thanks for showing all your faces new and old , i have a lot to share with the world this year and if illuminations right (and i know he is) the Barneys LSD is going to be a big success

Amnesia Lemon Haze :

Bag appeal, 10/10 (emeraldy green, grinds up lime green though, with dense orange hairs errrrverywhere ! )
Taste, 7/10 (To be honest i was expecting more amnesia and less lemon, having smoked the real deal amnesia haze i think the pungent "sour odour" of amnesia was overpowered by the lemon, not that i'm complaining though if it had been called "Lemon amnesia haze" it would have gotten a 9/10 )

High: , 9/10
The high in this plant is amazing and is the poster child for sativa/indica hybrids. off of a single joint, around 0.3 of a gram for me you notice the effects instantly, a lively, chattery and giggley experience. Even for a seasoned stoner like myself. but just when you think all the fun is about to end the high shifts from your brain to your body for a nice "off to bed" effect

My Reccomendations :

This plant is a wonder to grow (with even just a little common sense) and it takes VERY well to LST and Topping (i topped at multiple points to great success) and is clearly very hardy after what i put it through and a miraculously short flowering period considering its got some sativa in it .

Il try and get my growroom specs posted before i run off to amsterdam for a few days and then we start buying new things again ....

Haha well im back now , Unfortunately i didnt manage to spend my money on new genetics as i was too busy getting high, eating mushrooms and getting drunk (not all at the same time of course)

The grow is still on schedule for 01/04/2011 , i will post later today with all the geeky details but right now i'm off to do some research, its all in the research

I can agree with that

So the details of my new grow are as follows :

This time we'll be using a 400w Sunmaster HPS Lamp with Cooltube Refletor (i hope for bigger better buds with the much higher light output)
I will be using a proper high quality inline fan and carbon filter, (bought from a growshop instead of cheap ebay crap)
My growing medium will remain as soil, however i am switching to Canna's Terra chemical nutrient range and suppliments such as rhizotonic, PK13/14 and Cannazyme, where i have always grown organically i am looking to see how big the difference is ?

I will be growing 6x Barneys LSD from clones in my 45cm x 88cm SCRoG

I also hope to grow a "Blueberry Haze" seed that i managed to aquire on my amsterdam holiday, the weed was the crowning find of my entire holiday and i was fortunate enough to get a seed, So i will grow it with my LSD Mothers, if all goes well and its female i will keep the mother, if it is male i will pollenate a single branch of one of my LSD females and hopefully produce a generation of LSD x Blueberry Haze plants which will feature in my next grow All in all it is an extra reason to watch what i get up to this year as it will be a real treat if we can get some blueberry haze going aswell as the LSD (not to mention it will be my first breeding project and i would be so happy to be able to say that i created a strain even if it wasnt stable )

Once i have built the next grow area ,( i have to wait til friday when i get paid), i will have some pictures of the new grow room up and we can start getting down to business hopefully i will be drawing on my scroungers abilities and building a micro veg cabinet aswell , just for ease of cloning etc.

I thought i'd drop a little update, the light hasnt quite turned green yet though
I am sitting ready to make all the neccesary purchases for my ultimate grow, all that remains is for the clock to strike midnight, i get paid , then its in the hands of the delivery men ? ....

I'm running low on many important requirements, over time i have depleted a lot of my supplies so this has been a major restock AND refurbishment and its going to set me back £355.97 / $573.75 .

Soon as the cool new growing equipment starts arriving pictures of the new grow cupboard will start going up and we can get this thread going properly ! Until then im off to read Mr Nice until midnight with a big Amnesia Lemon Reefer

Subbed. The buds themselves look almost like GHS' Super Lemon Haze, but the general plant structure is different. What's the genetic lineage of that?

Hey wolverine , welcome to the fun !

The Amnesia Lemon is from Barneys farm and its Skunk #1 X Amnesia Haze, very nice, im still smoking it now , and i LST'd it alot, it responds very well

Wow, not the genetic background I expected at all. The buds themselves look virtually identical to my SLH, right down to the calyx size and extra thick and fuzzy bright orange hairs that almost overtake the entire bud. Even the buzz you describe is exactly the same. Crazy. I train/prune my SLH into short wide bushes with around 16 main branches, the sparse foliage allows great light penetration. Sorry to rabble about it on your thread.

No no its cool, you clearly have something to share and i encourage it, i still dont know everything after all Im planning on going for a 6 plant SCRoG with a heavy indica strain , keeping the plants relatively small in 18x18x21.5 cm square pots . SLH is on my list so i look forward to growing it at some point and comparing for myself

And a good way of looking at it to be sure, when the buds are ground up the lemon scent is overpowering but it doesent taste as lemony as slh when smoked

So with the weekend at my disposal i have started making preperations for the new grow room, I sterilised it first with massive amounts of bleach for that germ free , sterile area that we all need . I have also laid the foundations for the way i will have my pots laid out and air movement / ventilation is starting to go in . i have some pics



This Is just my normal grow area, gutted out back to just to an empty cupboard and bleach cleaned thoroughly my LAN cable and TV cable are what you see coming through the wall.



Here is just the general mayhem of a stoner trying to put up a shelf, fortunately i have done a good job , it was just messy



And here is my work coming to fruition, as you can see there are 6 18cm x 18cm squares marked out on the wood , and if you look at the picture below you will see a 40 cm gap between the shelf and the floor . Now if you look even closer than before you will also see that i need to cut my toenails

My plan is to have a run to waste reservior underneath the wood, i will be cutting 6 x holes and sinking the pots into the wood with fans drawing cool air from down below and blowing it upwards from under the plant canopy (there are vent holes in the cupboard doors) i have a 3rd Pc fan which i will attach somewhere inside to create more of a crossbreeze offering me a good clean air intake and good air movement , and i will also be taking order of a 125mm inline fan and carbon filter which will vent air out and help with clean air intake also.



And so this is my progress so far, i still have to put up another shelf at the top of the grow area and sort out my elictrical cables before all my new kit starts arriving and also need to run to the shop for my waste tank , there will probably be a couple more updates today as this workshop seems to be an ongoing thing

One of my orders has arrived though : The LSD seeds , theres much exitement in the air .

I have also now added the shelf for my ballast and to hang my light from, I am hanging my fan on bungees to help with noise reduction. now im just waiting for the boxes to arrive so i can mylar the place up and install the kit
