Sensi Star and White Russian

Hi man o green, white russian is a favorite of mine too, you even grow it kinda similar to what I do.

I start them off in 6" cubes and then add another 6" underneath, then I put all that in a tub and fill around the sides with cellmax, which is the tiny little cubes that are like 1/4 inch at most.

Quick shot of mine

Interesting, I've been thinking about expanding my small cubes on top of some loose RW cubes in a bucket.
Thanks for the pix. Love to get ideas.

Well, I bought a bunch of crap today at the grow store. Techniflora BC Boost and Grow, the majority of what I use. That and a bunch of rockwool. I also got buckets and loose rockwool cubes, maybe 1 cm.
So far, I've transferred the WR originals to the buckets, you can see in the pix.
I've also placed seeds in rapid rooter plugs which are inside rockwool cubes 3". The cube serves little purpose at this point other than as a good labeling system.
Took some pictures of the bagseed plants as well, you can notice the very sativa leaves on the right.

It's not great to leave the tops of the cubes exposed to light, the heavy dark green you have is algae, in some cases in can eat right through the stem at the base.

You can cut up some poly from some store bags to cover over them so it stops it from getting any worse.

Totally agree with you speedy, I will have to figure out a solution to this. I will say that I've always grown this way with rockwool and never had a problem with algae getting out of control except when I keep the cubes too wet. I like your idea with the dark plastic from a bag .. thanks.

I finished my transition of clones to veg. They don't need the high humidity of the dome any longer as they have full roots. About two weeks from cut. I've placed them into two trays in the grow box for 24/0 veg. Pictures show WR on the left, SS on the right, 6 each. The WR still have obvious flowers on them from my sexing the parents. Then one more close up of the big CFLs , my best information for the bulbs is : small is blue 65w / 3400 lumens, large is red 85w / 4200 lumens. I've only done power reads on the whole box, not individual bulbs. It does stay quite warm and humid in there, despite the outside temperature. And very rarely the AC comes on in the winter, but it's there mainly to blow air on the plants and act as the heat "safety valve", just in case.
Little plants look kinda sick, they have been in the humidity dome too long, they took too long to root. They will come around I'm sure, some nutes and a little carbohydrate. They will fill up the whole box in a few weeks. Hardy little weeds when you give em the right conditions. :bigjoint:

Curious pictures of the strains i have so far and their leaf profiles :
note the typical sensi star in my av pic vs. the :
1) unknown bagseed, probably a F2
2) some sativa , probably Mexican in origin, although maybe not in genes, hard to say.
3,4) White Russian

Yeah I'm just thinking these pics are cool atm.. bongsmilie

OK, I must have a magic grow box .. plants just seem to take off in there, vegging great no matter what time of year.. Those little clones are starting to grow. Having algae issues already ..
The seedlings look pretty good too. Have a couple that haven't come up yet, just have to see I guess, one was a freebie. I only worry that my veg will outgrow the box before my flowers are ready. I believe I am over my capacity now, I need to plan to scale back next cycle.
Flowering plants have really bushed out. I've trimmed the bottom branches on a few to see the difference.. I may do some more cutting to experiment.

1 - 3'x4' footprint with seedlings and clones.
2 - close up of seedlings
3 - day 10 ( I think ) of flowering SS + WR + BS
4 - SS Close up
5 - BS Close up
6 - WR Close up

I'd like to update with the latest pictures of the seedlings and clones, they are doing quite well. This will be the last batch of original Sensi Star that I do.. It will be replaced by super star clones as soon as they are ready. this should make a mix of three cloning lines when I'm ready. SS, Choc, and WR.
I've placed the feminized seeds on recycled rockwool. The regular ( not fem ) Choc and Super Star have been placed in loose rockwool cubes in buckets as these are temporary plants and will be sexed out and cloned. They are now under 12/12.

1 ) Super Star ( sensi star ) @ 12/12 week 1
2 ) Chocolope @ 12/12 week 1
3 ) White Russian @ 12/12 week 6
4 ) Half of grow box, fem seeds ( in the back ) and white russian clones.
5 ) Six sensi star clones
6 ) Feminized seeds ( free ) Moby Dick, Blue Hash, Haze Hash.
7 ) White Russian clone taken from a flowering mother close up.
8 ) Sensi Star close up.

Just watching my little girls grow, I thought i would post some interesting pics for the new year. Showing the chemicals I use and the large cfls that i use in the veg box, as well as an interesting one-leaf white russian. I'm sure it will be 5-7 points very soon after adjusting to 24/0 again. Give it a week or two. I really like the contrast that the very indica leaves of the Moby dick and Hash plants give, compared to the more sativa of the sensi star or even the bag seed sativa.

1) Chemicals
2) One-leaf WR
3) Moby Dick and Blue Hash
4) Big-ass CFL

Happy new year all

Thanks :bigjoint:
Veg time was about 6 weeks for the WR, with two weeks of seedling, but it's ridiculously tall because it stretched so much during veg. Part of that is just the WR strain, I've heard, and the other problem was having the lights too far away. I've fixed that problem with the next gen of clones.
Feeding Techniflora nutes, BC boost, grow, etc.
Other than the stretching from seed, and my loss of a couple seeds ( my fault I believe, not the seeds ), it's been a pleasure to grow.
Can't wait to taste in a few weeks..

I'm getting a little concerned about my clones in my grow box. Just happens to be in the garage .. and it's a little bit cold around here right now - outside. In my garage, it's 28 degrees right now and falling. The clones are in veg, so I don't have to worry about a cold lights-out period, but its currently 62 in the box with 450 watts burning. Climate control ain't easy. 8)

How big is the cola on the WR? It looks pretty fat. The SS looks awesome. And the BS looks, well, crazy! Haha! You have your veg lights on 24hrs? Hope it doesn't get too cold out there. Maybe you can run a space heater in there when you're awake and able to keep an eye on it. I have the opposite problem; keeping my closet cool enough. It's 41f outside right now, and inside my closet is 83. I even have the sliding glass door in my bedroom open -- which means I'll be freezing in my sleep tonight because I don't have the heat running.

Very good question. I hadn't thought about scale, so here it is :
If you can't read it, its about 6" or 30 cm for the best part of the WR cola. This is just the nicest looking one, but there is about the same amount on each. 4 more weeks I hope ..
