seltzer for co2

i am currently growing for seedling s now in my closet with 5 cfls are keep the closet closed half the time.So i was wondering if useing the seltzer method for co2 would be the best less expensive way to provide co2,and does it work.My plants are just 7 days old and i have been misting them for about five days now with a fan on them.I try to mist them at least 4 to 5 times a day and the room closet temp stays around 78 to 83F.I do have a empty propane tank and was wondering if i can refil it with co2 and just use that in the closet.Would anyone know how much a regulator cost and how should apply the co2.

no you can't fill the propane tank with co2, you can lease a co2 tank from a welding supply place or buy one. the regulator will cost you $100 - $ 150 depending on where you buy one. i don't know what the seltzer method is but every cheap method i've tried didn't seem to be worth the effort so i went out & got a 50lb tank.

I think that the co2 seltzer thing is more about treating the grower than treating the plant. If you need to do it, and think it helps go for it. I always worry about the Ph of the seltzer, and it's possible effects on the leaves.

i was also thinking about using half of the seltzer and half distilled water and feeding the plants with that.I havent read about it much but i have heard that most people wouldnt recommend it.If some one has done that and has had god results i would like to hear about it.Right know i am using the seltzer on the leave but it seems the bottle has lost its bubbleing and just looks like regular water so i think im gonna get the cheapest tank i can find.I was wondering if those big co2 tanks that are used on paint ball guns will work ,would anyone know?

thats not enough co2 for your plants. buy a co2 tank for a paint ball gun for like 20-25 bucks, get it filled at a paintball shop or a sports authority for 5 bucks. then press the top of it to release co2 in the grow room.

i called academy and they have a 240z co2 tank for 34.65$ and i also found a regulator that will fit this tank. The only thing is i dont know much about useing this stuff so i need some information on this. Will i need a control timer to release the co2 or do i just leave the regulator on the right ppm that is needed for the plants.Im growing in my closet with some cfls so i dont realy need vetalation and i have a fan in there.Should the fan be on the plants while the co2 is on or should it be in another direction so the plants can absorb the co2.And should the tank be on 24 hrs a day,how long do you think a 240z tank will last me?

If anything I would use the seltzer in combination with a co2 release system. Mr. green uses it in one of his videos. But Alone, there probably wouldn't be much noticeable change.
