Quick question
If the tail is growing upward towards the surface is it a bad thing ? And what should I do about it.

Do nothing. It will sort itself out. I hope the seed was planted deep enough so the tap doesn't dry out. If not, just toss a little soil over it

The only thing that comes to mind is that you planted it with the "tail" (radicle) facing upwards? Else I don't know. Cover it with soil to protect it.

What did you plant them into? Cup? Big pot?

Used a cup and I planted the tail going downward but I checked again today and it seems to be growing back down now

It sprouted today tho so all is fine
