seeds vs. clones

This may be a stupid question but I am just not sure. I was talking to another grower the other day and he swore that a plant grown from a seed will produce a significant amount more buds than a clone. Anyone have any experience with comparing this with the same strain for a real comparison?

Don't know where your friend got his info but he don't know what he is talking about. If I were you I'd find a new friend that grows and has some grow knowledge and common
sense

A clone is an exact genetic copy of the mother plant (donor plant) Why would it produce less than the seed of its origin?

Forgot some clone porn....these are all 100% from clones.

Alright man thanks. I thought as much. I have only done 2 grows, the first was all seeds and the second was all clones. This time I have both. Lemon Skunk x OG 18 S1, Oatmeal Kush are the clones and Train Wreck, Woody Harrelson are from seed.

Ok im going to chime in here! Ive done seed and clone and from seed almost everytime from seed
Theres more in yield! Yes the clone is a carbon copy of the mother but the node structure is different.
If you think about how much longr it takes to grow from seed and how fast clones are, then the over
All yields over time the clones will yield more.

seeds will yield more than cuttings, talk to any professional agricultural farmer. Whether it be corn, soybeans, sunflowers, rice, etc etc seeds yields more. weed is no different

This is absolutely true. One seed will yield more than one cutting. However, you grow a plant from seed, and rip 10 clones off that one plant. Those 10 clones will yield a whole lot more than that one plant did. This is the logic behind cloning. One to one though, seeds yield more.

Seeds have more vigor and grow stronger than clones thats the reason for more yield. Grow the clone under same conditions the mother did veg for same time the seed will come out on top every time in stronger plant and more yield ive done it.

seeds develop a deeper taproot then clones.
clones roots go out then down,
seeds go straight down.
if your gonna grow a 15ft tree you might want to start from seed as it will develop a deeper root system making it harder to blow down.
indoor, clones are the answer.

if you had a clone and sprouted a seed..they were the same size grown in the same conditions, the mother would have a thicker trunk, most likely thinker stems and stronger, it would grow a little bit more vigorously and the yield would be a little higher..not by much though..im a clone guy just cuz its more convenient for me.
