Seeds Start Faster Than Clones

Which starts faster: seeds or clones?

I've needed to know this a couple of times and internet searches have not yielded definitive answers for me. I've started clones and seeds at roughly the same time twice now and the seeds are at least two if not three weeks faster than clones in my experience. This is true for both strains I grow.

I start my clones in rapid rooters using clonex.

I start my seeds by soaking them in water until a tap root emerges and then transferring to a rapid rooter.

The seedlings will grow faster, clones can take up to 2 weeks to start growing even if roots are there.
Seedling cant flower for first 4-5 weeks so they take longer than clones to start flowering.

I have big healthy clones, but like Buds mentions, they don't do anything for a couple of weeks. During that time my seedlings are growing. I'm basing my experience mostly on height and I've never tried to take a clone (or seed-started plant) to flower in less than 5-6 weeks from the time it's cut.

The four seedlings are on the sides and the 9 clones are in the middle. The clones actually look nicer now but they are shorter. I actually topped about 2 inches and a node off one of the seedlings on the left and fimmed the other one on the left.
