Seeds -- how to pay

So I want to order from Attitude. My bank declined payment on my debit card, so I went out and purchased two International Visa cards (one for $100, one for $50). Those were declined also, although I have registered them.

Called the Visa people, apparently things have changed and the cards cannot be used internationally any longer. Although any new cards being sent to stores are now labeled as such, there are plenty of cards out there still that say worldwide use when they cannot be used that way.

I am out almost 10 bux in fees to purchase the two cards, and can only use them at Walmart or whatever. I am ticked to say the least.

No idea how to pay Attitude now, wish they took PayPal.

From Attitude's site:

If you do not wish to process a transaction online or over the phone, then you can download a printable order form, from our website, which is very easy to complete. Then purchase a money/postal order and post it to us, with the completed order form. Money/postal orders can be purchased from your local post office, wallmart or gas station. These must be made payable to ‘The Attitude’. (If made out to any other name, the money order may be destroyed and result in your order not being processed).

Once we receive the money/postal order we will check that the payable amount is correct before processing the order. Please remember to include delivery costs and any additional stealth costs, as it can hold up your shipment. And if ordering from overseas, please check you have paid the correct monies to the correct currency. We do have a currency converter on our website if this helps.

Cash can also be sent in the post, but please be sure to send it to us via a secure postal service that is track able, as we cannot be held responsible for any loss in the mail.

I have new information for anyone planning to use so-called international Visa debit cards. They won't work. Apparently, regulations have changed as of Aug 1. Any new cards going to retailers will be labeled correctly (domestic use only), but there are still lots of cards on retailers' shelves that say they are good worldwide. They are not. While I can use the cards I purchased for something at Walmart or whatever, I am out almost 10 bux for the purchase fees. Visa customer service can't help me. Go figure.

BTW, I have now snail mailed my order w/ money order to Attitude. Gettin' me some SLH and LSD :)

Welcome to 'the olden days.' For ages when I bought seeds it had to be done via snail-mail and using cash or an international money order. Credit cards and debit cards were not accepted yet and personal checks were not accepted, other than by a few sites who would wait to make sure they cleared before shipping your order.

I just used my debit card, but I called my bank first and told them I was going to order something from england and wanted to make sure it went through. My bank did charge me an extra $3 for some kind of "overseas charge fee", but it went through with out a problem.

Yeah, I did use my CC last spring when I ordered from AMS. This time I didn't want to use the plastic, balance too high lol. I ended up sending a MO, it's on its way.

Thanks for the idea about pre-approving the debit card, mrboots. I may try that next time.

according to Nirvana, you can use prepaid cards you bought also. You just have to go thru a couple hoops and pretty much do the same thing and pre-register them for international sales also.

Kerovan, that is what I was talking about. I think you will find that there were changes effective on Aug 1 that render those useless for international use. I am stuck with $150 worth that I can only use domestically even though they were labeled for worldwide use and I registered them. The customer service at the number on the back told me this. Cards are being replaced at retail outlets, but lots are still out there.

I bought the prepaid card from walmart, then I paid to get the ones with my name on them. They can be used overseas.
