I tried germinating seeds that i bought 2 years ago. I tried a dinachem, pineapple express, and then a bb cheese and they all did the same thing, they just sprouted the white tap root in only 1 day then wouldn't progress any further and just rotted wtf? yet the seeds i got from my dinachem cat piss pheno that hermied from stress germinate with such vigour they sprout the the whole leaves and everything in the paper towel in only 2 days??

Sometimes you just get a bad contaminated paper towel. It's a gamble if you ask me. Or, if you sprout them in a space with a high spore load, you might as well consider the wet towel like a petri dish. As soon as you open it to look, you basically inoculate it with whatever is floating around in the air as well as on your hand too. As a matter of fact, many people doing sterile lab type work will sterilize the paper towels in foil first before using them. Maybe you could just get away with zapping in the microwave though.. Yeah I dunno, i'm not a big fan of doing it that way anymore. Too risky IMO. I've lost more than a few batches that way now.

I had a 3 pack of some purple punch and they all molded in the towels. Sprouted on different days but all the same issue.

I don't do the towel thing anymore. I agree with @curious2garden about fungi and germs. Even from other handling than just yourself.

Back in high school, we had to sprout and grow out some seeds for a biology class. They had us use paper towels for germination. Thinking that was about the last time I used that method. I just give my seeds at least an 18 hour soak in water with some seaweed and peroxide, then use tweezers to put the seed straight into the soil. I've killed my fair share of seedlings out of sheer ineptitude, but they pretty much always at least sprout and start healthy before I do my damage.

I soak em in distilled water until they finally sink when I swirl them around. Then about a hr later straight into a rockwool cube soaked in distilled water. Just use distilled water on the seeds, no ph adjustments, no nutrients until they start to sprout the crown of the 2nd set of leaves after the cotyledon leaves. I never kill seeds this way, 100% success so far.

Could be the water, or your oversaturating the towel. You want the towel wet where it doesn't drip if held vertically, but not so wet its dripping and sopping wet. Use distilled water if possible, I have 100% success using paper towel, sandwich bag and distilled water when running quality seeds.

There is a good chance dinachem, bb cheese and the pineapple express seeds were made afew years back now. As soon as the seeds were delivered to you how have you been storing them ? What were they stored in and did you keep them in original packaging. Were they brought as single seeds or full packs of each strain, and have you been taking one from the pack and growing it ever once in awhile or when needed. Also was the dina chem a actual dinafem seed, the cheese a actual big buddha seeds made , and pineapple express a berneys seed. How long is the white taproot becoming rotted in ? Thanks.

Wash the seeds well before initiating germination. You can use H2O2 as stated above or bleach. The goal is to remove any nasty fungus from the seed shell that lies in wait for the emerging root.

I use a small handheld strainer/collender from the dollar store and 5% bleach solution. Wash rinse repeat. Then scuff the outside of the seed.

Best of luck getting some to pop!

Fungus is probably killing them. I was able to revive seedlings that were laying down due to a fungus attack. I thought for sure that they were goners. I dug them out of the coco and sprayed the roots, the plant, and some of the surrounding soil with Fungonil. I propped them up surrounding the stems with coco. Surprisingly they made it.
