I have a small grow area approx. 120x60cm (4x2') with 4x CXB3590 driven at 1650mA w/ lenses.Besides some recent bug problems (spider mites...) my plants are doing ok.
Thinking that the CXB3590 provide all the light for my area (even too much in same cases) I started new seedlings at the bottom of the growing area, furthest away from the lights. One Jack Herer and the other Bubblegum. (The others in the front are some autos, they're actually fine)
(My normal vegging plants are about 40-50cm from the lights, the flowering about 20-30cm. Picture is not recent - I propped up plants in the meantime)
The Jack Herer stretched quite a bit, almost 4.5" so I needed to prop my seedlings up.
I was just surprised to see this amount of stretching.
I was wondering whether with "warmer" lights, I have the 3500K CD bin types, this stretching is actually normal and common? Asking what distance TO SEEDLINGS people with the same lights usually have? Wondering whether people who run cooler lights, say 5000K etc. don't see that much seedling stretch?

In the picture, the seedlings are down, to the left. This outside area is also the area with the least light. But I didn't see it as an issue, at first. But is seems to make seedlings stretch, too far for my taste.
** Edit: The Jack Herer, which is the second seedling in the back, to the right, also had his cap on for a long time and was stuck in the "cap" while it grew...until I finally removed the seed "cap". Maybe that's also a reason that this one stretched so much more? Because it didn't get enough light as long as it had the leaves stuck and rolled up inside the cap? Actually...makes sense to me thinking about it...
