I have a general question. I am fairly new to this after germinating the seedling and I plant it in soil do you give it light right away or should you wait? I have a 400w l.e.d light.any knowledge would help thanks

As soon as its up and you see the first pair of Cotyledons ( seed leaves ) get a light on it, not too bright as new seedling sometimes react poorly to say a full on 400W light at optimum distance---stick it under your light but a couple of feet away until in a week or so you have the beginnings of a couple of true leaves showing and then move your light into the recommended distance from the seedling, I'd tell you this distance but I am not too familiar with recommended light distance for LED lights, look it up, or maybe someone here with more knowledge of LED systems will put you right--good luck.

Seed doesn't need light until after it break the surface in a few days. A germination pad or heater can also be used to raise soil temps, but most growers use their lights from day one for this purpose.

400 w LED no closer than 20" first couple weeks.

Good luck on your grow.

Welcome to RIU mikey, once you get your seedlings up and running start a thread in the Indoor growing section, give a little post now and then with pics, the info you get from interested vistors is is a goldmine. good luck mate PS the info given above by prosperian re giving a little heat to get the seeds going is good advice, a little underheat from a pad or propagator base makes a big difference, if you don't have this stuff you can improvise by putting an old style incandescent lamp inside a biscuit tin or similar this provides a heated base to sit your sprouting seed pots on.
