So, the seedling was stuck in there for about 3-4 days, and i let it attempt to shed it on its own, but it wasnt going down.

So, today i removed the shell with tweezers. After the shell was removed there is no sign of leaf growth yet. The top of the stem is in shape of the shell.

I didnt remove the shell to early did I?:wall:

lemme hear your in put

its best to let nature work its course, but some times you need to do what you need to do. if you did it gently it shouldnt be a problem

for millions of years these seeds have been doing this on there own.

for millions of years they havent been living in peoples closets either, of course it could shed it on its own in its natural environment, but perhaps not in my barely 70 degree closet

I hope it works out for you. I've had to do it a couple times with mixed results. If there does not appear to be any formed cotyledons, you may be out of luck.

Yea, there is no sign of cotyledons...

we are on the same page as far as my outlook on luck goes

misting helps them shed thier shells, but I've removed stuck shells with no problems.

It should be fine

if it can't pop off it's own helmet then it's not worth keeping.

got any pics?

put that in the faq
i think if the cotyledons are swelling under the helmet, but the "helmet" still dosnt budge, then its ok to remove the seed. but this guy did pull it off a little prematurely

i dont think that should be part of the FAQ because it has to do with situations and its an opinion.

i think she has a slim chance
