Seedling stem length

What do you consider the average "stretch" of your seedlings before they start to beef up?

What is too much stretch?

I think these are fine but this is my first attempt with cannabis. It the lean in the seedlings a sign its looking for more light?

Cheers

I'm disappointed they are stretching. I have them under a low watt LED light I got from Costco for $50. I thought it would be perfect for seedlings. The herbs in the picture seem to love it, and have no stretch at all.
I have the light a few inches away. Im going to get it a bit closer.

From the codyleon (spelling?) to the soil, the stretching should stop soon. It happens to me. More so when I start in really small pots. Don't over water, don't knock them over with your finger, they'll grow normal. Unless your light is insufficient

Pull them and look for protruding taproot at bottom if you see it ... plant it ... bury the stem ... easy.

It stretches when it’s rooting stage ... only a problem if let them get like a giraffe , they begin to fall over. Once most of the stem is buried it will throw lateral roots.

Yes! Both have a significant taproot, the longer one being over 2 inches long. I will get them to their hydroponic home asap. Thanks for the input.

They are doing fine since the move. Its quite something how just an inch one way or another can effect plants. I removed the plastic lid from the tray and put the light right over the tray (previously an inch higher, positioned right about the dome at about 2-3 inch above seeds).
I also moved the seeds in the middle of the tray and away from the edges. The others are doing well, no stretching at all! Im glad Im practicing with my free "overgrow Canada" kush seeds.
