Seedling lookin dry

this seedling is about a week old now and when she first popped through the soil the base was super green and looking good, but it hasn’t grown anymore and is looking dry now. The light is at 18 inches, rooms 80° F consistently, and humidities around 50-60% consistently, and I am spraying it lightly with a spray bottle to keep it moist

what am I doing wrong here? My last seed dried out too

That is your problem. When it sprouts if the shell doesn't fall off the seedling will die because the leaves underneath are not getting light. Use a small pair of tweezers and remove it. If there are green leaves underneath you will still be fine, if not, well time to plant another seed. This happens to me sometimes. I check in the morning and evening to ensure that cap comes off when it pops.
Be very careful though

Usually have to take a few helmets off my sprouts as well.

Don't bother myself, but If you use a seedling / clone tray, with a top to raise humidity until they sprout, it likely won't happen nearly as often.
Just don't keep the tray somewhere too warm, or in the sun.

That's right! If it's too dry the shell won't part and fall off on it's own. A clear cup or some wire and saran wrap to make a DIY dome will soften it up and help it fall off tho if possible you should do a little surgery.

I've had to do lots and as long as you can see the split between the two cotyledon leaves I use the tip of my little pocket knife blade to poke between them and with a finger at the closed end of the shell just push the blade toward that finger so not to stress the stem. Had to do about 20 all at once and didn't lose a one.

Tip: Do it before that 5th cup of coffee in the morning so your hands are steadier. ;)

So what if I can’t see the split between the leaves?

So what if I can’t see the split between the leaves?
Sometimes there's a little film or membrane, from inside the seed, which can cup the end of the cotyledons and keep them closed?

If you're careful enough, you can gently rub it off with your finger and thumb. Tweezers would probably be better i suppose.

If you get the helmet off and the leaves are still green you should be ok. Just don't overwater it then. I can't see the container but it should not be bigger than a red solo cup. I put a plastic sandwich bag with a couple little snips on the 2 outside edges for oxygen to keep the humidity in. After it sprouts, has viable leaves and is starting to stretch I remove the bag.

The leaves will quite likely be yellow until they get some light to green them up but that should only take a day. Same thing with rapidly growing plants. The center of the grow tips can be yellow to lime green but after a day or so they green up too. I've seen lots of posts with people saying it's low iron or calmag of all things but if your plant is gaining an inch or more a day that's rapid growth.

I just got some Mephisto genetics autos from a local dispensary, but I’ll check out those links, thanks!
