I'm a first time grower about to germinate my seeds, I was just wondering for the sprouting stage would it be better to use a soil mix or would just regular potting soil be sufficient?

Any soil or soiless mix will work just get some with no nutes in it! Nothing pre mixed.
once they get going i like to use canna start till they are ready for full on nutes.

Any place that carrys canna nutes would have it! If your local shops dont you might have to order it.

Most times beans are sprouted in paper towels or something of the sort, as they do not need light or nutrients. They are then transplanted into soil or a rockwool cube for hydro

I ve always use the Miracle Gro's Seed Starter soil that sold at the homedepot, walmart, or lowes. IF you dont have any high quality soils at your hydro shop in your area.

good luck with your frist grow for best med !

Go ahead and go right into potting mix, with one big BUT....

Some potting mixes have chunks of wood in them as part of their organic composition. Be sure and hand-sift
your new soil to remove anything larger than a matchstick. Twice I have lost seedlings and found out too late
that a wood chunk had held the seedling down and killed it.

Good luck, BigSteve.
