seedling dieing out

i'll start off by saying i've dried out/ killed 7 seeds, without knowing what im doing wrong. i would germínate in a wine glass bottle water 23-24 hrs. then out into paper towel with plastic bag. place the pure white root into soil, cover, and water. in 1-2 days the seed would appear but never growing past this. leading to drying out, i've got lucky 1 time out of 8 seeds.

What are you putting the seedlings into? Get some quality seedling starter mix, black gold is a good one, but there are many others. Let the seedling get a pretty good tail in the paper wowed. When you plant the seedling use a pencil or something similar make a hole, drop the root tip down until the seed cap is barely below ground, and push soil around the root. The soil needs to be pre-moistened! If the surface dries give it a squirt or three from a squirt bottle. Keep the light up high.

First thing, you should start your seeds in a seed starter soil. The way MJ seeds grow is the tap root humps up as it starts to grow. The root actually goes above the seed in the soil and then pulls the seed up. By pulling it up it is supposed to drag the hull off the seed. If you plant it with the taproot pointing down it can't drag the hull off. What I do is soak the seed and if it doesn't crack I put it in a wet paper towel, but only until it cracks. Then drop it in the soil randomly and let it choose it own way.

If the hull doesn't come off it has to be removed. That can be tricky. I do it with tweezers. I close them and slip them into the crack in the seed and let them open on their own.

I had the same problem. Even with Happy Frog with some seeds. My solution was to Use this cheap promix in solo cup with holes, its $12 @ Walmart. 5 Years worth of seed starting medium for 12 bucks. After its 2 weeks old, transplant to Ocean Forest... good to go!

Oh & don't overwater. Barely moisten soil every 2-3 days.

This stuff is hard to overwater, which makes it perfect for newbie growers like me.
