I just got some regular auto seeds, if I get a male and pollinate a branch the resulting seeds will also be auto correct?

What about if I pollinated a normal photo with auto pollen?

First question, yes you'd get autos.
Second question, the accepted norm is no autos in F1s of that pairing...from personal experience tho if the mother is auto and father reg, you have a lot higher ratio of autos in F1s. If the father is an auto and mother is reg, then you get very few autos in F1s.
If you do the mother reg x auto father, the accepted norm is youd have to breed further until you got real autoflower
Source:currently running F1s (auto mom x reg father) 16/16 autoflowered in 18/6 light schedule.

Makes sense, thank you.

I know with mushrooms you can cross them but f1 will look normal and then f2 is where the new traits show up. Guess it’s similar with plants.

dad was a carrier for the trait then, unless you've found some new variant of the Autoflowering gene. its generally recessive otherwise.
