having trouble understanding what attitude means -
'Grapefruit Diesel always finishes in under 8 weeks flowering'
does that mean after blank amount of weeks of veg, once u switch to flowering it will take 8 weeks to be done?

'Flowering time is 10 weeks with a possible 11th week of pheno' ??? whats that 11th week of pheno??

I think it means that certain pheno's of that particular strain can take upto 11 weeks to finish flowering...

not once you switch but when she starts to flower, count the weeks down from then mate, pheno= indica or sativa dominant, dont go by what the seedbanks say, 8 weeks is under optimum conditions, hope this helps..

I think he was saying that after it sprouts it will be in "veg" or vegetation stage, where you are now. You need to veg for a bit to let the plant get established. If you have room you should veg until the plant is mature, 6-8 wks.
When he says "starts to flower" he is talking about the plant after it has been switched from veg to 12 hrs dark/12 hrs light to induce flowering,
Mr. Welchsmoker is telling you NOT to start counting the weeks from the day when you switch, but instead wait until you see the first sign of flowers. Depending on the maturity of your plant when it goes in to 12/12, this can take a couple of days to 2 weeks or so. THEN you start counting the suggested weeks for that plant.

ok i believe i understand now, so for example, i veg for 6 weeks 18/6, switch to flowering 12/12 for another approx 10 weeks or so, bring the total time to 16weeks.
i have only one grow under my belt(not even finished) and it is an autoflower, and it says 70-75 days(10-11 weeks) to be complete, so iv been lookin up different non auto strains and have been completely confused with the terminology.. thanx fellas

With non-auto, start counting when you see pistils after switching to 12/12 in order to figure an approximate finish date. Example: If you put in 12/12 on Dec 1, wait til you see pistils, say Dec 15. Then count your 8 wks flower from there so they'd be done around Feb 09.
For autos they grow and finish without any intervention; the whole grow- from sprout to harvest- should take the number of days specified by the breeder.

you can do 12/12 from seed with most 8 week flowering seeds ready to harvest in about 10 or eleven weeks, with better yield in my experience..
