Seed Question

I was looking through some real old stuff today. Stuff I have not looked through in 30 years. Well I found 2 film cannister. One had 14 seeds in it the other had 10 seeds in it. I know that the only reason I would have saved any seeds at all is because the weed had to have been exceptional or I would not have saved them. These seeds are 30 years old. Will they still produce? Should I use them?

I've cracked nearly 50 year old beans from Vietnam (48ish if you want to get technical) the freezer trick is your best option, sometimes they need a little scuffing to soften the husk, and I soak mine for 24hrs...usually the ones that don't crack or at least sink usually don't germ...older they are the harder it is...found the ones I have going through the old mans stuff..I get about a 20% germ rate...also after several years off and on I've never found anything exciting...

Have to try to find out. I have poor success with old seeds myself. Somebody gave me old seeds in the corrugated plastic they used to send from emery. Had 5-6 strains of ten each. I got two to grow and they were runty. I'd say they were 15-20 years old.

I've never heard of the freezer technique. Next time I will try that if ever in a situation like that.
