if you're careful and you mark the branches, it should work no problem. :)

This is i newbie Q, but i cant seem to get the same answer twice! When a true fe-male plant throws out say 2 or 3 seeds in one Nug, with no pollination or hermaphroditism, just the one or two in whole crop, are these seeds fe-male and of any worth?

you have to have pollen to have seeds.

those seeds will carry hermy traits. whether they appear or not is a total gamble.

So how do you reckon it got pollonated? as apart from the rest of that plant's bud having no seed, nothing in the garden was pollonated. Why i ask is while in GHS C/S i got couple g's of their Alaskan Ice and got a seed in the 2 g's! How would that have happened and will it too carry hermie traits in it?

You likely had a hidden nanner deep in the buds somewhere.

Im not growing GHS, I got a seed in a bag from thier c/s. Ive done a serious seeds chronic and got one Nug with 3 seeds in the whole crop! No Probs, i realy just wanted to know as ive grew a seed out before from a real nice bit of bud, and the resulting plant was fe-male, no seed and a really overall good grower with good smoke!

I wana make shure im doing things right

so a while ago i went to check on my plants
one is a male
four are females

I looked at the male and i saw that two of his sacs open one looking like is going to open
so I clip them off to but into a small container

so do i wait?
how does pollen look like (with small amount will I be able to see them)(I only collected 3 sacs, 2 already opened outside)?
do I just get a brush swirl it in the container and brush the female buds?
Im a bit nervous

pollen is a white/yellowish powder that falls out of the "bananas" once they open. if you pick them too early it won't be powdery. if it's not powdery it is often not viable yet. once they do open they drop most of the pollen at once. you have to try to catch them just before they open. once you collect them you can tap the container a little and you should see some powder. dab the brush on the powder then touch it to the hairs on the female. i usually collect at least 20 or 30 sacs before i get a usable amount of pollen.

well I didnt see any powder
but I took the unopen sac opened it myself and placed it on the female and moved it around

Im useing autoflowers and have only one male
im worried that I wont get seeds and that I wont be able to collect pollen on time

heh
I bent my female over (lol) with some string then leveled the male above her (lol) and bent him over her (lol)
so I hope pollen falls right on her

So you let them grow / go into flowering the entire length / time just like a female?

And I have a male & a couple females my yard the fence is 8 foot tall, do you think putting the male on the opposite side of the yard will be suffice? It would be 30 or so feet

I would like to keep him & try some crossing & just getting my foot into the water so to speak

Thanks

pretty much, yeah. :)

you can trim them back to just a branch or 2 so you don't have pollen everywhere. you only need a little.

Cool thank you, He has some great traits to him, nice tight nodes and a good strain I hope.

It would be cool to have a little jar of pollen to make some new flav's

Thanks again

is red hairs a sign of pollination?
b/c it attempted to pollinate a female and then she soon got red hairs
I wanted to see if red hair might be a sign
so I attempted to pollinate another female and she got red hairs shortly after
the other females (non pollinated) still have white hairs

yes, red hairs are a sign of pollination. the calyxes should start swelling soon. ;)
