in my experience the best way to produce fem seeds that dont herm is to simply let the plant flower a few extra weeks it will start to produce male pollen naturally otherwise use g.a. as you said or a ionized silver solution you can google on how to make a solution its easy. still though i prefer the natural way i mentioned thats your best bet.

Only problems with that are dedicating the space for the extra time, not the most convenient point in most cycles to be collecting pollen, and most, but not all plants end up doing that..

i normally dont self plants i make crosses to minimize problems. 2 weeks extra seems to work in my experience on the strains ive tried this with all clone only elite strains. i dont really waste space besides for the 1 0r 2 plants i put them in the corners of the grow where they are out of the way. minimal light is needed for them to produce a few male flowers as a little goes a long way the bud is still smokeable just higher in cbd at that stage. i preserve the pollen and use it on the next run of either the same strain or a different one. so far ihave made some cool clone only strains in fem seed form.

im not speaking of hermies at all in this way of pollen production. flowering females in late stage flower will often produce small amounts of male pollen this is a natural survival trait if no male pollen is received in the wild. stable strains ive grown many times do this both sativas and indicas if you have the patience to let the plant run its course. the resulting seeds have grown and produced for myself and others without problems. the light stress method may produce herms i have not experienced any using this method. many strains would not be available in seed if not for these methods.

Dude, plants that resist herming to the utmost during critcal times can produce pollen late season.. I'm a nazi when it comes to feminized seeds.. I wouldn't grow any personally unless it was the only option for a desired strain.. But ppl want them, so might as well help work towards the safest feminized (hermied in all aspects by our separate flower definition) seeds..
I wouldn't argue if you banned all discussion of feminizing here though.. Heterosexual seeds are the best seeds..

Do they operate pretty much the same as females do, or are they more likely to die after they produce pollen?
also, if you pollinate in early flowering and revert back to veg once the pollen "takes" would seed development continue or just stop like the rest of the flower does?
...just kinda wondering if seed production is in any way independent from the rest of the flowering production..and I'm high.

i have never tried to reveg a male. i would think it works the same as a female.
i have seen people pollinate "preflowers" while the plants were in veg. these grew into healthy seeds.
if you could put a female into 12/12 for a week or so, just until you saw a few hairs, then flip it back to veg. you should be able to pollinate those few hairs.

Wow, how have I never thought, or heard about that before?? Thats a damn nifty and safe way to get a couple..
wow that's great to hear...I was thinking along the lines of..if seed production could be done in the veg chamber it wouldn't affect your harvest, also it could be done quicker and you wouldn't have to wait for the rest of the crop to finish in fear of damaging buds and yield trying to pick out the seeds early..
If you could use barely flowered pollinated clones in the veg chamber under 24 or 16/8 lighting that would save a hell of alot of time in back crossing imo.
i was just thinking that. i get A LOT of clones with hairs on them.

If pollen is available I see no harm in trying that on every sensimelia intended plant grown so long as its not part of a perpetual cycle where others would be at risk during flowering..i tried last year and they didn't take.i will try again this year.
