SEED PROBLEM

I put 5 Dinafem White Widow seeds in water for couple days. I then pushed on them with my finger , and they sank to bottom of glass. I then put them in Jiffy pellets. About 4 days later 4 came up. That was about 10 days ago. At one point while I was at work the little fuckers dried-out. I then watered them again and put them in Pro Mix in solo cups. They have come back to life, but have not grown any since then. I use bottled water on them. They are under 48" fluorescent grow lights that cover full spectrum of light. They put out 10000 lumens. I have tried plants right up against the light, and then have tried light about 6" above them. Having no succes. Did I fuck them up when they dried out? Help!

How long has it been since you put in the cups? Usually once the clone builds up a decent root base, you will see them start to really grow larger. Pics would be nice..

agree w wyteberrywido. seeds are very sensitive. 10 days ago, you are ____ed, my friend. seeds need to be left alone until germinated and showing it's 2cnd set of leaves!! then, let them have some light. start off w flourescents a few inches, maybe 4" off until the seedling "unfurls", then next day as close as possible without burning. (probably 2" off), no closer. But you can forget about those seeds if it's been 10 days. lesson learned! good luck

If drying out was going to kill the plants, they would already be dead ten days later. If they are green and still appear healthy then you have another issue.

How often are you watering the promix? Jiffy starters, and peat blends in my opinion just hold too much water. If not careful its easy to keep the plants too wet, which will cause slow or halted root development which results in stunted plants.

Light isn't your issue. Plants do fine with light from the time they sprout. Unless light is getting to roots somehow, too much light is extremely doubtful at only 10k lumens. On the flip side, otherwise healthy developing plants should be stretching if lack of light was the problem.

I think that is the issue jay719. I will not start seeds in Jiffy peat pellets again.
I used them my first couple of grows as well. Then I had some stay too wet and had poor germination rates. Personally I find rapid rooters or root riot cubes to be much better in terms of maintaining a good moisture level.
