Hi this is my second grow from seed ive used the paper towel method again first time I Germinated 5 seeds and all 5 popped :) then I placed them in peat bricets and all 5 grew into large healthy plants.

I've done the same this time put the seeds into peat but I'm worried I transplanted them to quick 2 had tap roots about 3 mill long and the others had only just cracked. They have been in the peat bricets for just over 24hrs and none have broken surface yet is this normal, I might just be worring to much but would like abit of reassurance thanks.

I had a seed take a week to pop after cracking and had to help it bye removing the shell

it only took 12hr for them to crack and tape roots to appear which I was happy about just a waiting game then I buired them about double seed size down

do not revolve the dirt to try to see if she's growing , you will disrupt his growth and it will take even longer.

next time just put them straight into the peat pellet, theres no need to germ in paper towels. Patience is a verture, after a few grows i get this now:)

I wait until the taproot is actually poking out of the shell, I've had one get stuck in the membrane and wouldn't pop out. The paper towel method is nice because if in 2-3 days you don't see it cracked you can go ahead and start germing a new one. It's nice for small gardens when you want to grow a certain number of plants and keep them with in the same age.

2 were poking out about 3mm and other 3 had just started coming out. I should of waited till they all were ready just didn't want the advanced 2 to start growing micro roots and attaching themselves to the paper towel.

I always have trouble with my seedlings.. i have 100% germination rate.

What ive been doing lately is putting a plastic bag over the party cups. After i started doing that my seedlng rate went from 75% to 100%

Ya the plastic covering helps, makes the pot like it's own humidity chamber. Speaking of micro nutes, just to back up that people exaggerate how sensitive they are, I'm currently growing one that I forgot in the container that grew a bunch of the fuzzy micro roots, covered them with dirt and it's doing just fine.
I don't worry until after 48 hours and even then I'm really just looking for a distrubance in the soil.
