Seed/Germination issues

I've never had a seed go bad but it seems like my entire seed inventory has simultaneously gone to crap which really blows.

In the past, I'd germinate all my seeds in rockwool, issue free but then I tried to pop some new ones a month ago and after the tap root would form, growth would just stop (I tore into them a week or so later to check).

So then I tried Rapid Rooters since most people here think low of rockwool but alas, same thing.

Then I tried the paper towel method (which was a first for me), same thing.

Now I'm trying the cup of water method and again same thing.

What's weird is I've been storing my seeds the same way for years - little ziplock bags in a cool, dry, light-free environment.

I don't think there's some magic solution or any point to this thread other than to bitch and moan but before I send all my saved genetics to the trash and yolo it, I'm willing to try a hail mary. I'll even sing to them if you think that could help. So many strains. :(

Pic of current water seeds for reference (they have stayed this way for 3 days now, 2 days to crack so 5 total)

Where do you store your seeds?
If you have others drop them in your freezer for a couple days and try again
When they don't reach for new areas they are usually to wet and drowning

I keep them in a little wood box in a cupboard.

I get what you're implying about the dampness but that would undermine the entire paper towel or cup of water method. Using the starter plugs though, I'm sure my saturation levels were on point.

I'll try putting one in a freezer though, why not.

I'm thinking about it now - there were a couple days right smack in the middle of the summer where I was without electricity due to a breaker box needing replacing. Maybe the heat messed them up.
