Security question: how safe is it on this sight??

I am prob asking a question that has been asked many times b4 but it is important(and i am brand new to this site and 'gardening') so here it is:

How safe is it to live in the US and be posting on here???

For instance, I don't want 'my buddy' to post some questions about his garden and have the DEA or local drug task force knocking on or kicking his door in b/c they're somehow able to track who posted from where sort of thing.

and/or is there a safe way to post w/o having to worry about such matters?? i.e. proxy servers or something?? i don't have the first clue about these kind of things,
so any and all help will be greatly appreciated,

Like any grow operation Im sure it depends on the size and purpose of your grow. I mean if you have 10 plants are you really worth the time it would take to track all your information when there are so many bigger fish out there with such bad intentions? I mean the mexican cartel grows thousands of plants at a time and when they get busted the feds fly over for days before making an attempt at a seizure. They could care less about the little guy as long as your not asking for their attention. Hope this comforts you somewhat.

Your an adult (being that u have to be 18+yrs old to register for the site), which is common knowledge... therefore .. do what u want .. if you want a fake sence of security from someone tha tyou do not even know .. then you my friend will eventually slip up.

Hey if your that worried about it use a proxy to cloak your existence on RIU. I personally don't care because I have a medical card, where else are you going to learn how to achieve growing mmj if you never have before. These type of forums are god sends for us mmj growers!

Legal inyour state and legal in the US are two different things. I am a legal cannabis smoker in the state of california.

Is it safe here? No! use common sense, if you are logging into somewhere (without proxy protection) then there is a log of where you are logging in from. On top of that there is a chance for you to be talking to a fat pig munching a donut and some coffee trying to catch pot smokers and child molesters.

These questions you are asking are not very mature. If/You are an adult then you should know the risks and act accordingly. If you are an adult you have some serrious growing up to do.

Take an interest in figuring shit out for yourself, it is kind of the point of the site, you only have to search.

I highly doubt any of this data on this site is used by HLand Security; The Patriot act allows the US Gov to eavesdrop on whoever, wherever. You have to trust your government that they are not after 10-15 plant growers; Obama already told the DEA to stop raiding dispensaries; I highly doubt he will be persuing home growers because without it, all our money would go to the Mexican Swag Cartel instead; this is a fact. Our Gov is after terrorists.

RUI Should never have to divulge their ip address logs to any LEO. Under the privacy policy you digitally signed upon signing up for this website it "SHOULD" specifically state that your information (deemed your private information) will be shared with NOBODY. Although a supbeana to support an already investigated case might require RIU to divulge some records pertaining to a specific account; however all of our records will not be compromised. I would be really interested to know who has access to IP Addresses...

honestly, i probably wont ever post a picture on this site unless i have to. If i had a big grow op with 20 or 25 plants putting out 5 or 6 lbs a crop i would get the fuck off of this website obviously, but for small timers like most of us, its no biggie. Also; who said they were real pictures or real stories? Just make sure you remove personal properties from the image files you upload; In Windows Vista; you right click your file you want to upload, click "Properties", then click one of the tabs at the top and you should see an option to "Remove personal properties & Details from file"; and make sure that **IF** you take pictures of 'plants', make sure that your W2 or Powerbill isn't stuck to a corkboard where everyone can see your address lol. (Someone actually accidentily did this).

Also, I'm sure you've seen the statement somehwere, "For information/educational purposes only".

No shit its not safe, i'm so sorry that asking the user's of this site if they think it is makes me childish...maybe the one who needs to grow up is the one who just throws insults and doesn't stop to think that instead of spending time sifting through endless search results i could just start a new thread and check that the next day...f'in idiot
