lol, sounds like you've done it before! It took me over an hour of hard digging and removing root balls and deep grass. This while digging, sometimes from my knees, to not be spotted by a possible sight line from a building on the other side of the field, and overhead via a takeoff strip at a nearby airport. But, wow it's a really nice spot, lol I haven't been back to see them yet. Hoping to fit it in tomorrow. Hasn't rained since I planted them, after the rainiest June ever. Now ain't that a shock.

Hell fire I thought this was going to be a stealth urban grow not a balls-out 100 plant, wide-open field.

+rep for balls...I live in a little po-dunk ass rural town and the flying pigs would have that picked out in a week. Good luck man.
It is at the site of a very large folded business that had a lot of space and is now an overgrown field that I hollowed out a spot near a tree line with great south, east, and west exposure. It is a few hundred yards away from a building, a baseball stadium, and fenced in with barbed wire, so I'm guessing on the little or no deer traffic, but I haven't had a plant touched yet. Also gets zero foot traffic and is near many major roads.

I started with as many plants as I could raise through seedling and veg, figuring simply, it's better to have too many than be disappointed at any stage by the amount.

I planted 216 and 2 grew out of the original planting in 7 days. 3 days in a paper towel sprouted 40% of them and I had around 150 in a week. Never would I sprout any seed without paper towels or rock wool cubes. I'll do an official count when I see them again tomorrow.

Ahhh, my babies that got off to a late start, suffered their seedling life on a scalding hot roof, rootbound in seed starters, and without the best plant foods available (remember only used generic off the shelf feeds easily available).

So, here they are only about 2 weeks into the ground, and they are 3-6" of new growth per plant. Thick, dark green vegetation and a ton of new node growth on each. With the all day sun and good soil, they are taking off very well. Remember during the flowering stage, they grow 2-3 times faster (until they start budding) so you want as many developed nodes as possible since that's where the buds form.

We've had 2 good soaking rains in the past 2 weeks, and they were heavily fed before the rain 10 days ago. By heavily fed I mean Miracle grow was scattered on the ground just before an expected rain, which is a hell of a sight easier than lugging gallon jugs of water 100 yards from the nearby creek to the spot. Oh yeah, dropping milk jug gallons of water over an 8 foot fence caused them to explode at a rate of 4 out of 6.

So here's the new pics, and they are looking better than ever before!

I would love for people following this thread to also add pics and info on their own home secret urban grows as well! When doing this kind of thing, the more info the merrier, and it will let anyone who wants good self produced weed a chance to learn how it can be done without the best possible environment (or expense). So please, post away !!!!!!

Hey I know I'm somewhat new to all this but I have some friends who used to work on the drug task force and they used to spot and break up small grows like this all the time in national parks by looking for small clearing from a chopper. One thing that fucks around with that method is taking camoflage hunting net and moving it under and around the plants to get rid of the contrast between the plant and the ground.

is it possible to just pick a deadspot and drop the seeds in..water and they will grow? or do you have to sew the ground?

The camo ground layer is a great idea. Where I am at is pretty safe from eyes. You'd have to be right on top of it, and I always like to plant along a tree ridge. Also, they don't do flyovers like in many states here, and even if they did, by that time they'd be done and grown in anyway.

The entire grow is only about 70 square feet too (10-11 X 6-7 feet. The pics may be a bit misleading due to the mass of plants, but they are spaced about 1 foot apart and staggered to maintain the distance without being too large, They will get thinned as soon as the males appear, and there'll be plenty of space.

When they get a little larger and the male pods appear, and get pulled, I'm hoping to be able to tie them down to the ground and allow the middle of the plants to get better light. Allowing as much or more light than they would be if they were spaced at 2' which is what I would prefer

OK, I know it;s been a long time since I updated, but I was laptopless (just made that word up), but I;m back online now !

So, without further spine tingling anticipation I know you all are feeling, here is the end of July pics!!!!!

Soooo, you'll see the mass explosion of growth that has happened over the last few weeks.

These pics are from just before they started sexing.

Post your pics of your secret urban grows too! :)

Next post includes the first ladies of the patch and them all growing after being "tied down" to promote undergrowth, which of course only enhances the yield of each plant :) Woot, yeah

great pics and awesome grow wish you luck
im planning to grow 35 seeds of 4 different weed
i hopefully will post some pics here

The dog days of August are upon us, and making for superb grow days. Hot, sunny, 85-90 degrees, and 65 at night. Almost supreme growing conditions for the flowering season!

My apparently deer free spot is not deer free after all, which kinda sucks, cuz I spent a lot of time, energy, personal injury, and sacrifice to put them where they are.

I will say though, the "deer away" spray recipe of egg, cayan pepper, and garlic is a most amazing mix! I am giving as many kudos to the guy who posted it ANGUS, and YOU SHOULD TOO!

I did have some deer damage around the edges, but amazingly I've noticed since the plants started sexing that many of the nibbled on plants were male!!! I'd say about 10 of the 12 plants that had some damage were bitten down or slightly touched by the deer turned male.

I've never seen anything like that before and wonder if it's a trend or somehow the deer's keen senses let them know ahead of time what mere humans have to wait weeks to discover!?!?! hey, at any rate, munch away of you're only going to eat the males, lol

Here are 4 more nice pics, and some shots of the first early females starting to show! :) Enjoy

Yeah, that's for damn sure!

Clearing that space was brutal though, thistle bushes, and it was very rocky soil, but plenty of nutes going by the growth it supported. Pulling the males thinned it out quite a bit, but there were only maybe 12-14 males or so.

I also intended to bend them down as well so you can space them as you wish when you do that, so that everything grows in its own space.

It's kinda at the stage now, that you just let them go on their own and bud up, since the pants aren't going to grow much once they start budding. All the energy of the plant will be focused on the buds, and there will be a plenty !!!!!
