Okay so this is my first post, I'm an absolute beginner at growing but I have read and learned a lot. I think growing is so much fun and I can clearly see that people have fun doing it. I want to start growing my own cannabis for my personal use and hopefully in the future become a caregiver. So I just had a list of toys that I am planning to buy to get my grow started. Most of you will probably think some of the items on my checklist are a bit overkill and some of you might not. I just want to get some input on some of the items I've chosen before I purchase them. If there is anything you guys think should be added for the best results please give your thoughts.

Yea I know but I liked the design of the DR120 since it fits my ventilation ideas. Will I need another inline fan or is passive intake good enough?

You have a great list there my friend. You are going to love the DR120 II and a very good choice going with 5 gal. smart pots. I have the same and I love them. I personally think you will be fine with passive intake. Hold off on buying an intake fan until you get to see how your temps are first. I thought I would need an intake fan but held off on buying one and now I see that I don't need one at all. That will save you a few bucks.

I can't find your inline fan/carbon filter combo. Can you provide a link??? Since you have everything else that it top of the line, you really should get a Vortex inline fan and pair it with a Phresh Filter. I made the mistake of going cheap on my Carbon Filter from HTG. The thing couldn't stop a fart from smelling, so I bought a Phresh Filter and odor problems solved.

Check out Greners.com for a better deal on your tent, fan and carbon filter. Good luck and happy growing!

+1 greners.com for me too, they kick ass.

Here are some additional supplies that you'll need, you can hook these up at the hardware store (except the light hangers):

6" Duct clamps
Silver tape (not the nasty fabric-like duct tape, the shiny stuff)
Light hangers (get yoyos or similar, you want easy up/down adjustments)
Hooks/chains/zipties/bungees/etc. to hang your filter, fan, etc.
HEAVY DUTY wire snips (for cutting ducting)

The DR tents come with a couple of straps to use for hanging thing. You might just wait until you get all your gear to figure out how you'll hook it all up.

Hope this helps.

Passive should be fine. The DR's have velcro intake covers, you can affix them in a way that either makes the intake bigger or smaller, that way you can kind of fine-tune the intake and get the appropriate negative pressure inside the tent.

These tents kick so much ass btw, have fun. :)

P.S. I don't think you need that TDS tester, I could be completely fucking wrong. I've never used one, and have never been advised to use one. I think you can save some loot on that one...

You could save quite a but of money on the organics too, and just go with the FF 3-pack. That will get you thru the grow no problem with great results, but your choice of nutes and feeding regimen is yours to make.

Also regarding your filter/fan combo I got a 4" Sunleaves Windtunnel 200CFM and a 200CFM Phresh filter from greners.com, totaling $217 (great price on both). The Phresh filters are top-shelf but the Sunleaves fan is not necessarily (although I love it). So, that combo price would make me nervous too.

Thanks for the info man and here's the link to the combo http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002ZJNW3Q/ref=mp_s_a_5?qid=1310339215&sr=8-5

And thanks for the link I was ordering all these items off amazon but I think I'll buy my tent at greeners ;). I was thinking about getting the vortex I've heard great things but then again it might be a bit overkill for my tent don't you think? I'm thinking about growing 4 plants at a time. And yes smart pots ftw.

Are you referring to the solubels when you say different nutes? If so what would you suggest I'm trying to grow top-shelf bud ;)

I use the Grow Big/Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom trio with great success! I can't really suggest anything else as this is what I've always used, but they are certainly reputable products. The Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz, Cha Ching trio is what seemed unnecessary with the others. If you feel like spending the dough, have at it! :)

I checked out that combo fan/carbon filter and you are really going to want to get something else. Don't go cheap on your carbon filter or you will regret it when your whole house just reeks of weed. Phresh Filters are really the best ones you can get. Like I said, I made a big mistake and bought a cheap one from HTG and ended up having to buy a Phresh Filter 2 months later because of the smell. Greners.com has the best price on those too.

It's not really a matter of how many plants you are growing, but it's more of a matter of how big your tent is that counts. For a DR120 II you are going to want to get a 6" inline fan. You don't necessarily have to get a Vortex, although I believe they are the best you can get and the only manufacturer to offer a 10 year warranty. For a $165 bucks, that inline will last you 10 years or more. A highly recommended investment.

Good luck and let me know your final set-up please...With some pics!

VERY true, the Vortex is amazing, and has a 10 year guarantee. it is also CONSIDERABLY quieter then an EcoPlus 350 CFM.
and greners will replace any shipping damages, etc.
