Second try, could use some feedback.

So I tried to start my seedlings a month or so ago and failed, they were all doing horrible. So I bought some Roots Organic to start my seeds in this time to see if it goes better. They look good, but there is some twisting on the fan leaves of the two bigger plants (planted a week earlier)

Ph 6.5 runoff
Just switched from Floro 4by2ft T5 to 600Watt MH light 20inches from canopy of tallest
High temp 86 (when light is on)
Low temp 69 (when light is off)
Humidity stays between 60%-40%

It's been years since I've tried growing, does everything look nice to the experienced growers out there? Should I start fertilizing the bigger girls 1/4 strength next watering? Any feedback would be great, I worked very hard on all of this. Thanks in advance.

The strains are;
Og Kush
Purple Kush
Special Kush
Special Queen
White Widow

They look good so far. I'd wait another week and then do a transplant to a larger container of soil, you won't have to feed it at all for a while(depending on size of the pot you go into) if you go that route.

I figured out what was causing the leaves to curl like that. My closet is upstairs, no heat on up there, and my rez for watering is sitting up there too. The water temp is about 35degrees, so i got a small glass water heater to bring the temp of the water up so it doesn't shock the plants like that. I think that may have been causing the problem.

63-69 water temp is best. Try to lower your room temp a tiny bit, most of my ogs don't like the 80s. Roots organics is some decently potent shit so like mentioned above, don't add nutes. Good luck man

Roots Organic is kinda "hot" to start seeds in, could be part of the curling. My germ rates went way up when i started using a seed starter mix rather than plant right into Roots. They look ok otherwise though.

Thank you so much you guys! I loooove you! :P How long should I wait do you think, before I start adding nutes?

Also, I have a very good amount of coco coir and perlite, should i transplant into just that instead of into more of the roots organic when the time comes?

I wouldn't add nutes at all until you put in bigger pots. What kind of coco is it? Coco is hydro.soil is not. It's up to you. Soil would probably be easier because you only need to add nutes every 2nd or third feed and very light ppm. If this grow is strictly for bomb smoke, I would grow in soil.

Yeah Tricks, my friend and I live together and it's been a little tight on money because she is going to school, I love to grow it's just been a long time, and I want to make the best bud ever. I'm going to take your advice and just save or sell the coco and perlite I bought and just get some more Roots Organic to transplant in. I'm going to transplant into 1 gallon bag and then into 3 gallon bag.

That should work great. What size tent are you in? Are you going to flower with the 600mh or switch to hps? How many plants are you doing total? What are your hopes as far as yield? I will help you get a good run out of it

do you have holes in bottom of solo cups if so when the roots start out the cup transplant them roots organic is a great choice ,but i'd go into 1 gal buckets ,then into 3 gal buckets .each time you transplant use some root magic or something like it .worked out real well for me ,give the plant all what the soil has to offer.hope i could help out a little bit

Start nutes at 1/8 strength and work your way up, I'll usually feed it one time once the first set of true leaves are fully established, or i'll wait til the second set is forming, usually about 2 weeks from seed. From there i increase strength and frequency until i get to the levels im shooting for or start seeing issues. A 50/50 - 30/70 roots/perlite mix is decent for seed starting/new plants, I've always added appx 30% perlite to base Roots when going into final pots, Roots seems to hold too much water right out of the bag. Roots is either coco or peat based, or both depending on which one you have(original, 707,etc), so you could cut it with the coco you have as well.
