Second dwc grow and curing... looks good, smells good, tastes terrible!???

I had a purple strain from Spanish seeds I got for free from midweeksong and it looked.good but the smell was.like a grapey dirt smell and tasted.like dirt my buddy said and I grow in dirt so not sure I think it's the strain Cuz that's the first time my smoke ever had bad taste

Those buds are way tooo small for plants that look as good as yours do, either you got to go way longer or that is a shit phenotype. Also I am not a fan of the general but I fell out of love with them 15 years ago , they probably picked up their socks by now.

Yea I think the 8-9 weeks is the flower time and they don't tell ya and it starts when the first sign of flower you start counting I started the WW and the OG on 12-12 and the OG is doing really good and the WW has like tiny tiny buds and not sure wtf is going on the only problem is the tips are curved down and it's not from heat well maybe when I first started to flower it I was wondering if it's root bound Cuz it's got like 20 or more tops and the plant is big and it's only in a 10 gallon pot but it's flowering so I didn't want to really mess with it but don't think it wouldnt hurt any as growth seen slow AF and it was a free bean

try and grow one big cola , seee how that goes, I know skunk doesn't favor that but putting all the plant energy into the single cola might help

Wow soil plants look so much different! I am trying to keep perpetual going. Trying to start a new seed and going to use super soil. I have never tried soil but it seems like A LOT less upkeep and maintenance. I want to see how my SD plant tastes though. Those look nice man

I have grown other plants I actually had the big one under a scrog net and I thought it was a Hermie so I took it out but after I seen it was fem I just tied all the branches down but IDC how it turned out I just wanted to try the net and I love it I had a 3-1/2 x3 1/2 net filled with that one big plant so yea I got 2 wwxbb that are few days old and I got 3 red widow and 3 black gold that should be outta the dirt any day and I want to run scrog on them all and see what yeild I can pull as I don't get high I supply

Here's day 60 of the sour diesel... again started counting days from first sign of pistols/hairs. HSO says 70 days but not sure yet... might be like 80 or 90? Kept it nice and short... about 2 feet not including the bucket

It's day 75 and starting flush! Saw a few scattered amber trichomes... gonna flush for a week... will send pics of dried bud and a report on the flavor!!!!

I'm on my 2nd dwc grow and 3rd soil... plus one soil with LED. I personally have to chime in and say that your plant in my eyes looks very very rich in N still... which from experience made my buds a lot more hay/grassy tasting... as opposed to the full flavored piney or spicy taste. I've also noticed that my N rich plants didn't fatten up as well as my others...
I personally have come to expect or almost kind of like to see it when my leaves start lightening up and turning on me during the last couple weeks.

Sour Diesel is Done! And success! Taste is already awesome and not even cured? Flowered for 81 days upon seeing first flower. Dried whole plant for 10 days after flushing for 7 days... few scattered amber trichomes here and there. Buds aren't completely dry but in jars with the lid cracked for now and checking them periodically.... about 60% humidity inside the tent where the jars are cracked open. Stuff smells incredible... What's funny is that it came out very purple for sour diesel. But it sure as hell tastes and smells like sour diesel. Got 5.5 ounces as of now but might lose some more of that as they cure. Not bad for a 2 foot tall plant. Tops of the colas are baseball sized. You can see the nanners on the buds, but no sign of seeds. Next time I'll be on nanner watch! Hahahaha

To anyone that has followed or read this entire post. I definitely cut my first two grows way to early!

I realize this thread is a year old. I suspect the culprit is Cal Mag. I suggest backing off on ppm levels and dialing back on Cal Mag.
