Seaweed Fertilizer

Hello all, I had purchased some organic seaweed fertilizer at the local nursery, It seems to be very low in strength compaired to some fertilizers I have seen around. The N-P-K levels are 0.1 - 0.1 - 0.5, will this fertilizer be good enough to veg with?...and if so when can I start giving it to my plant, I have heard two weeks...I just wanna know people's opinions on the matter.

yes!! perfect stuff!! whats it called>?? i think i might have the same one,, its especialy great for misting 2-3 times a week,, it stinks like hell tho so mix the ligthest mix option on the bottle,, its does a lot of good they really seem to like it

It's called "Dutch Treat". How early did you start giving it to them?

and did you use it through flowering as well?

Seaweed is a great organic nutrient source for potassium (k)

I used Kelp Meal for my outdoor grow.

But you must use it in conjunction with other amendments to have the correct balance for maryjane in veg and flower stage.

This stuff will not work by itself in a sterile mix.

Its pretty much the same with any of the organic components, they must be used with a number of other ones to get a full balance of NPK

Use it along with some fish emulsion or seabird guano for veg. I prefer the fish emulsion over guano for ease of application.

What about bat guano?..is that similar?

Similar but not the same. Bat guano makes a better bloom fert. due to less N and more P. Though the ratios will change as the guano ages. Check this out for a better understanding of guano npk ratios on the market. http://www.htgsupply.com/nutrients.asp?categoryID=2&subcategoryID=119

Guano is great for maryjane because its the most balanced of all the organic nutes.

Mostly you get it in a Dried powder / pellet form which can be used mixed in the soil or made into a tea. This is more work then just squirting out of a bottle into your water.

I think I have seen Guano Liquid nutes online but never used them.


Tea is not difficult to make so I just brew my own to save money. But some people detest any extra work and they want the easiest solution possible.

What about worm castings? I use them mixed with my soil and to line the hole for transplants, they are packed full of goodness aint they?

Worm casting are high in N and Micronutes so they are good in veg mostly.

But guano can be used for Veg or Flowering. Because there are many different Kinds.

I use Jamaican and Mexican. One is high in N the other is high in P

i think wor castings is best for veg because of nitrogen dominance but im not 100% sure youd better look up the NPK of worm castings and if the n is higher than the P&K
its for veg but if the K is higher than the N & P your lookin at flowering stuff ,,, thats pretty much as far as i know!! hope i helped
