I have just been scuffing a seed using the sandpaper method to speed up germing. Anyways icovered the inside of a matchbox with sand paper gave it a good shake and noticed that the seed is missing an entire side of casing when igot it out, so in other words the embryo is half exposed. I've planted anyway. I always germ this way. But yeah have i just fucked this seed up? Thanks

why be so rough with it? Germinating seeds only takes about 2 days for most good seeds, I mean you need patience to grow from seed any way, I don't know you might just have fucked it up, but it wouldn't hurt to plant and see what happens.

I fucked up 2 Grand Daddy Purple seeds by trying to help the shell come off and I accidentally rip the cotyledons on one and the other one is in my dwc still trying to recover from a moister problem it had with fuzz on one of its cotyledons

I've heard of the method before, but I wouldn't scuff the seeds that I'd actually pay for, I might try this with my collection of bag seeds, what did you do just scrape it with sand paper and plant it? oh naw I don't see anymore mold forming I had a plastic bottle over it so that's what caused it, but I thought my plant was doomed anyway so i ripped the one cotyledon off but the plant is still kind of growing, it's in my DWC with ph'd water an I'm seeing some new growth but it's slow, I've been cloning so long i forgot how to grow from seed

I agree with Smokefacekillah, I would never mutilate any beans I pay for. As for bagseeds I would only attempt a grow if I knew the strain and knew it would be something worth while.

I always use this method myself , never had a proper seed tho , don't know if I would try it with an expensive seed.
But it does work , I've had tap roots in less than 12 hours in the wet paper towel after scrubbing the seed with a nail file.
