ScrOG Roots?

Just wondering and ive heard of alot of people having problems with root knot in smaller grow areas

Is it possible to set up a scrog in the plant (in hydro of course) to let the roots grow out wider and allow for more growth in the plant?

Thats the first time I've heard of this! I have no experience in hydro but have invested time researching i about it. From the pics i've s een of roots in resovoirs I understand what your saying and think it would be worth a shot. Especially in DWC resovoirs where the roots just sit in the nutrient/water solution! Net pots only support the root ball and stem as the roots just hang there with no obstruction. The major key to growing indoors is creating a natural enviroment so why not in nature roots have many obstacles. I've seen many underwater caverns where roots just hang just like they do in aeroponics or hydro systems so of course they have thrived but would scrogging to support and spread out the roots increase yield?

Johnny to answer you, yea...the roots can become tangled together if you're working with more than one plant in an area. But if you keep the roots aerated you shouldnt have too much of a problem. I run a DWC right now and I've had roots that have gotten caught up with another plant with no problems. If you do get that or a root ball, juss submerge the roots in water and they're easier to work with as far as detangling goes. Peep my avatar, thas my DWC I have but my plants are a smidge bigger than that now lol I think that pic was taking Nov. 6th. I love the DWC because it keeps the roots aerated the whole time, even with the lights off thas why I can see mad growth from day to day. I need to replace an airstone cause one of them i believe has went bad, but when I do...its juss going to make things even better.

So if you are thinkin about doing it, go ahead. It doesnt hurt em unless you let it form a tight knit root ball. And im doing SOG with my grow too in the avatar

Seriuosly im glad you were the one to respnd i have seen you post in other threads and your picture was the reason i went to get this shit SET UP!
Im thinking about the same exact grow except do u have another tub on top? to mount the lights in and the larger tub is just for a drain correct?

Thanks alot for the information as it helped alot
If i read correctly there is no problem with a root ball in DWC aslong as it shows no stunting in the plant?
