Hi all . Newbie here . Currently on my second grow . First one they grew way to tall and got abit out of hand but yield was still okay . This time I’m planning to scrog and keep a low even canopy . I’m just over two weeks into veg . When would you say I should install my scrog ? I have 8 plants in a 8x4 tent . Some form of Jaffa strain . Any help would be much appreciated .

using alien easy feed system ! Seems great
2 x 1000w Mars hydro lights also . Please please pleas help me :) EDIT . My tallest plants is approx 13 inches tall with rest rest being between 9-12 inches tall . Added some photos to give an idea of where im upto !0FE4FBEC-61A9-4F43-84A2-0647EA8017BD.jpeg8B7C27A7-8CD8-4EEC-91DC-66BDD5AEE27B.jpegC366C0E3-F9DC-4512-842D-1524EABAA07F.jpeg

That ones worked thanks mate . May sound dumb but can you give your opinion on them at the moment ? And your opinion on what you would be doing with them at this stage ?

I’m having a nosey on the guide mate thanks . Just wondering if anyone can give me some direct pointers as to what / when I should be doing to them as they stand . Thankyou again

I don't do a scrog anymore because of the inability to move my plants around and the difficulty reaching underneath to prune and trim.......I prefer lst.

When I did do a scrog I followed the tutorial I linked.
I placed the net 8" above the top of the pot......most people do anywhere between 8" and 12".
A scrog net is different than a trellis net.
A scrog net is pulled very tight with 2"-3" openings........allowing you to train the plant to grow horizontally under the net.
A trellis net is looser with larger openings and doesn't train the plant.......it just holds up the colas in flower.

Yeah it’s a scrog net I’ve got with 2” holes wondering if I should get it tucked onto them new and start the spreading stage maybe ?

I placed the net at 8" when the plants were about 2 weeks old and let them grow up through the net........when a branch grows about 4" above the net, pull it back through and move to an adjoining opening. Just keep doing that until the net is pretty much filled.

Thanks mate so maybe now could be a good time to get started then . How much air circulation is needed ? I’ve heard stuff about extra fans above and below the net ? And thoughts on this ?

I had 2 fans......one above and one below.
Removing all the growth under the net is very important for good air circulation.

Looks excellent that . Think I may set my scrog up in the very near future then and try to get them growing out ! I’m defermined to have a better yield . How much would you expect to get from my set up ?

That depends on your lights. What is the exact mars hydro model?
What is the actual power draw from the wall on your lights?
I know it's not 1000 watts.

Sorry to tell you but those lights are only 150w each.......totaling only 300 actual watts. Barely enough for 2-3 plants.

For your size tent you will need approximately 6 of those lights for optimum growth and yield. The rule of thumb if using quantum boards is 30 actual watts per sq. ft. of grow space......you need about 900 watts for that tent.

My tent is a 4 x 4 and I have a 650 watt light......actual power draw from the wall.
I generally yield 24 - 30 oz.

My last grow when they grew tall I had one or two fall behind . Which only achieved 5oz wet

a couple of the others was 10oz onwards were one had almost 14 wet . Shame I thought the lights where actually doing okay in there
