screw the dispensaries

Im tired of the dispensaries in Nor Cal.

When they 1st opened, they had GREAT bud. But lately things have gone downhill.

I used to sell BOMB bud to the local dispensaries. And they were happy to buy it. I wasnt the actual grower, but the middle man.

I used to get 4500 a lb for top shelf. But with so many growers of late, my prices have dropped. I never had a problem with the business, and completely understand the concept of supply and demand.

A few dispensaries wanted me to drop prices to 3000 for a lb.. Eventually I went with the lower prices.. But now they want me to go even lower WTF? (around 2400)

So I no longer sell to them..

I constantly keep hearing people complain that the bud they bought was crap. WTF are these dispensaries doing? They have legal rights to sell bud... But decide to get greedy and push average to below average bud to help them with their bottom line?

Harborside in Oakland has nice strains. But the THC they claim is false. Bought GDP that a whole bowl and no head change at all!

Angels Care in Santa Clara has MANY strains that smell like hay.. Yes hay. (Owner, and staff are the nicest, but strains suck)

Harborside in San Jose isnt worth mentioning.. Why the hell did you even open your doors? Dude told me that the clone stem was purple because it was a purple strian? WHAT THE FUCK? the stem on a clone? LOL. Thats not a Purple strain characteristic buddy! And the bud isnt worth going to the boondocks to buy it.

Medi-Leaf in Gilroy Sorry Joe.. But other than 1 strain called "harijuana". You can get the other 7 strains they offer, from the local 16 yr old weed dealer.

These people have been given the opportunity to offer MEDICAL PATIENTS quality bud..

But thanks to the "all mighty dollar" and too much greed. These Nor-Cal clubs have become very average.


Just my 2 cents.... How do you guys feel about the clubs in your area?

Also remember.. They pay MUCH less for lower quality bud.... And they still sell it for the same.

It used to be ANY club bud was B-O-M-B!!! Now its a crap shoot.

Iv never been to Cal but asking 4500 a lb is greedy as fuck when its going to med patients. how much did a gram cost patients when they were buying @ 4500 a lb?

im from nyc and a pound goes for 4 to 6gs on the street right now i say fuck them grow yur own untill you have a lot of money and open your own store and force them to buy from you again

Most businesses run on an 8-10% net profit margin.

You are running into real business models now. It's not the black market anymore.

I live and grow in cali and the prices here are way too high..... I have to agree with you chester.... greedy as fk is an understatement.
I provide meds for the sick people who have no where to grow....free of charge...and when I am no longer able to supply it I hope the same treatment is afforded me.

American prices are fucking insane!!! If it cost twice as much as the Niagara region. I think it's time to start smuggling

Remember $4500 was many years ago. Once the dispensaries became more settled $3000- $3500 became the standard. But then they wanted lower than that.

The bud I was bringing them came from a friend in his 60s. His bud was so far and beyond anything I could grow. It was the type of bud that we all search for. Like the clubs USED to have.

The point of the story (some of you may have missed it while my post was rambling).

Appx $50 an 1/8 when they paid 4500 (42% PROFIT)

Appx $50 an 1/8 when they paid 3500 (82% PROFIT)

Appx $50 an 1/8 when they paid 3000 (133% PROFIT)

Appx $50 an 1/8 when they paid 2400 (166% PROFIT)


Whats happening here is that they have a much larger clientele because the clubs are socially acceptable now.. But they are selling a lower quality of bud.

at $50 an 1/8 by my math the clubs sell a pound at $6400 for a pound they pay $2500-3500

i get that they need to make money too but hes right most clubs have been buying cheaper shittier weed and charging the same for it

Also another "fun fact". Since these clubs have so many rookie growers bringing their weed to them. The clubs dont pay up front. They pay "net 30".

So theoretically... THEY DONT EVEN HAVE TO COME UP WITH THE CASH! They sell the bud THEN pay the grower in most cases. And "if the weed is good".. Then they will call the grower for more...

The customer is the test dummy for the new growers weed.


EDIT: Harborside has more veteran growers. This I do know is a fact. Not positive why their weed has been very average to below average lately?

i have never even heard of that. everyone ive seen pays cash on delivery

fuck the clubs...them are street prices...im coming out to cali next week wanna sell a zip(N E 1)PM me...whats really the point of a club if the prices are the same if not cheaper on the street...

I know there around for those who can’t grow but really they charge more than the block...you would think that since its everywhere they lower prices to beat out competition

That's because there are two sets of market in play. If more growers come online (which is happening), volume goes up and the MMj shops BUYING price goes down. that does not AUTOMATICALLY drop the selling price however. There is always a lag time involved.

Also, while MMJ has moved towards a realistic and genuine business, it isn't there yet.

These are flux times....if MMj stays around, it will all shake out. Big business will eventually take over and drop prices further.

Like I said, most business run on about 8-10% net profit. It will end up there.

The small grower will become a thing of the past. Weed is growing up.

This is the price list from Blue Sky (2009 prices). And these are a little low for most clubs in the bay.

big business will take over but small growers will never go out. big = lower quality, think miller beer. there are micro brews because some people like quality and are willing to pay more for it. sure some day most people will smoke wal-mart brand weed but there will still be a market for top shelf

blue skys top tier is also better than alot of other clubs

Very true. I also believe that eventually the Walmart of weed, aka "Weedmart" will crush all these ghetto clubs and bring us the best weed @ the best prices. But bro.. Thats many years from now.

The funny thing is that Blue Sky used to be my last choice when buying. But since all the other clubs quality has fallen.. Blue Sky stayed the same, and is now the bomb weed.

I am from socal and i can say that for the clinics around here all the meds are bomb give or take the few shitty ones. I notice with a lot of the kush strains appearance is like a 9/10 but then you smell it and it smells like sulfur??? gets me really high but i have been wondering about this
