Newbie here but sounds like you need a Sativa strain, if you go hybrid go easy on the Indica side (say 30% or less)

I suffer from the same and have heard the exact opposite. I heard you want Indica and not Sativa to avoid panic. I havent tested this myself yet. Got a few weeks before i can :)

Ya they say sativas are more likely to induce panic attacks.. The couple times it's happened to me have been sativa, or sativa heavy.

hmm this sounds bit more complex than just simple indica/sativa....if you've experienced simultaneous couchlock and anxiety, and can recall the strain that induced this, that might be a good clue as to how to structure your strain search. I'm no expert--and if anyone claims to be, they should probably have a PhD/MD and have run or researched the trials themselves--on associating strains/cannabinoids with disorders BUT, it sounds to me like you're looking for something with a little better CBD:THC ratio which would kind of make me think a heavy cbd indica crossed with a lower THC sativa, say 70/30 might do you good. the chart on this page may do you some good : http://fosterdam.com/learn-ommp-resources/medicinal-cannabis-cannabinoid-chart/
hope that helps a bit, or at least the chart does, since you're getting some conflicting responses.
be easy,

i'm hearing the all clear from herbies and sos. IF you're interested in strawberry cough, devil's harvest breeds a strawberry cough x sour diesel that may be right up your alley. available from herbies reg and fem. also, if you can get in touch with peakseedsbc they're northernberry was the shit last time i grew it--not sure what the cannabinoid profile is, though :/ sorry.

I had hoped since I only have room for 2 that 2 of the three would be female and one make but I have 3 females! Gonna weed the worst one of the three out tonight and mahbe try and make hash out of it. P they were 3 bagseeds I got from a bag of purp last year! Hopefully no hermies lol

I get more of a racey heart not panic attack with Sativas and some Hybrids. Indicas give that laid back relaxed feeling. Sativas for the daytime, Indicas for night. Strictly my personal preference.

I guess to be honest ive only really dealt with local dealers so I really have no idea what I prefer haha thats why I started growing. I wish there was somewhere nearby I could get decent seeds or clones without ordering offline :/

[h=1]Best marijuana strain for anxiety?[/h]
by Nebula Haze
What is the best medical marijuana strain for anxiety? Some strains I've tried in the past seem to help, while others make it worse. Are there any strains I should avoid?
When looking for anti-anxiety medical marijuana, the growing and preparation methods are almost as important as the strain. That's why it's so helpful to grow your own buds when using medical marijuana to relieve symptoms of anxiety.
Growing your own buds also allows you to choose the exact strains that work best for you.
When using medical marijuana to help relieve anxiety, a good general guideline is to choose strains with lower levels of THC and higher levels of CBD.
There are also many strains that don't follow these guidelines, yet seem to still be great for relieving anxiety.
In these cases, there are probably other cannabinoids at work which haven't been studied yet. There are hundreds of cannabinoids present in the various strains of medical marijuana, and we have only studied a small handful of them so far.
Strains For Anti-Anxiety: General Guidelines

  • Lower levels THC
  • Higher levels CBD
  • Opt for proven anti-anxiety strains if you can
  • Whenever first trying new buds (even a strain you've tested before), only use a little at first, and listen to your body's reaction before you medicate fully
Growing Tactics For Anti-Anxiety Buds (helps improve anti-anxiety effects of any strain)
These tactics may improve the anti-anxiety effects of medical marijuana that you grow:

  1. Choose to grow a high-CBD strain (learn more about CBD at ProjectCBD.org), a suggested strain from below, or a strain that has produced anti-anxiety effects for you in the past
  2. Harvest buds later (after some THC has turned into CBN)
  3. Dry and cure buds properly
  4. Allow buds to cure for 1-2+ months before smoking. Curing buds for longer seems to increase anti-anxiety effects for many people
  5. Test a small amount of any new buds before medicating fully
I have compiled a list of strains below which may be helpful in relieving anxiety. Though these strains are not necessarily high in CBD, there have been many reports that these strains have helped relieve anxiety for some patients.

Anti-anxiety strains to try:

Avoid

  • High-THC strains (though some high-THC strains are surprisingly effective at reducing anxiety for some, these strains can be overwheming for others)
  • Buds that show any signs of mold (smelly buds, brown or black mushy sections, white fuzzy fur, etc)
  • Buds which were harvested early
  • Buds which have not been properly dried (especially if buds seem moist)
  • Buds which were not cured for long enough (if buds smell like fresh cut grass, that means it was not cured properly)
  • Strains that have given you an anxiety reaction in the past
  • Strong or untested edibles
  • Putting yourself in an unfamiliar situation while medicating with marijuana
Remember!
One of the best things you can do to relieve anxiety is get your body moving. Something as easy as a leisurely stroll is still better than staying at home sitting on your couch. Even a little bit of excercise can make a huge difference, as your body released endorphins which can have very strong anti-anxiety effects.
CBD For Anti-Anxiety
CBD (Cannabidiol) is a cannabinoid that is found in many strains of cannabis and hemp. CBD has many possible medical benefits, yet doesn't leave people feeling "impaired" or "stoned." It also seems to reduce some of the effects of THC.
Learn more about controlling CBD levels when growing medical marijuana: How Do THC, CBN, and CBD Relate to Marijuana Potency?
Learn more about CBD at the Project CBD website: http://projectcbd.org
"Scientific and clinical studies indicate that CBD could be effective in easing symptoms of a wide range of difficult-to-control conditions, including: rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, alcoholism, PTSD, epilepsy, antibiotic-resistant infections and neurological disorders. CBD has demonstrated neuroprotective effects, and its anti-cancer potential is currently being explored at several academic research centers in the U.S. and other countries."

Nothing makes me happier, smiling and laughing than C99 (Cindarella99). Lately I also ordered Chucky's Bride from Sannies, getting C99 F3 freebies with it. I'd describe C99 high as "Balloon flight into stratosphere".

Chucky,s Bride is similar to C99, anybody who tried it loves it. C99 is called by many "The Holy Grain" of Cannabis.
I'd say they got a point.

Easy to grow heavy Sativa dominated strain, fast flowering in only 50 - 60 days heavily Sativa dominated strain.

Yup I'd recommend any sativa dom strain... I agree, fuck couch lock; hey man, I got shit to do around here & need some fuel for that. Don't have time to sit around going aww man I'm soooo stoned I can't get up... Yes a sativa strain- I just harvested a Cotton Candy that has that great uppity cerebral high... Sure you might forget what you are doing but it's only because you are caught up in deep thought. Harvesting just before the peak of maturity will also help get that nice cerebral buzzzzz

Yeah thats what I was going to do with the 2 girls I have now, harvest them a little early like when the trichs are mostly cloudy? Does that sound right? And also will that work with an indica dominant strain? What I'm growing now is a bagseed I got from some purple dro. Leaves are looking fat on one and a little skinnier on the other.

Go with a Sativa, like Durban or Haze - for example / I am not a fan of couchlock so I'm growing a SSH x J.Herer strain called "Speed Haze". Got them from the Attitude,
by Black Skull Seeds. Try some "landrace sativas" and you will not have any couchlock ;-)_~

Hi I would suggest any land race sativas like a thai or congolese, or durban poison especialy for a daytime functional smoke....the very best for anxiety in my opinion is a good hybrid :) Im currently growing a Super Silver Haze myself with about 20 days left to go. She is about 75% sativa 25% indica and all medicine <3

Sure an Indica dom strain picked a little early will give you more of a cerebral buzz... If you are not sure yet when is "the" time to pick I recommend pulling a buds a few dayz apart... Personally I always harvest in steps to allow the lower buds to mature so these will usually be the "couch lock" buds that are picked last... I always seem to let them go for too long
