Say it ain't so: it's root rot, isn't it?

Mine came out to 1300ppm on 7 scale. I didn't run it in veg but a week though. I wouldn't run it full strength from clone.
I was running Hanna so 950ish would be about 1300 @.7, sounds about right, 1500 on either is too much regardless. I might of hit 1500 for a week during the end of transition with some aminos added. I’m currently running Lucas on floranova, kinda back and forth on Lucas threw my rough startup, it’s been a root battle, too many changes and fuckery

So it would seem like this little mafucka has turned a corner thanks to you guys. Growth has picked back up and it has already packed on a new node that looks healthy. I've checked the water a few times and it doesn't seem like it is eating (EC/TDS is stagnant, pH is rising slowly but still within range at ~6.2) but I am not too concerned about that yet since it is growing and looks good.

I also swapped my humidifier from a cool mist to warm mist which raised the tent temp to 80f and the water temp to ~71f. If it gets much higher, I may switch back to the cool mist but my other plants are enjoying the heat and higher RH so I may just cross my fingers that the bennies do their job.

I did notice a few relatively small root strands floating about in the water the last time I checked. I pulled them out and will keep a close eye. I also noticed some discoloration on my water level site tube. I am assuming it is because I didn't trim it or tuck it under the lip and the top was open to the light so I just switched buckets to one without a site tube to remove any possibility of a light leak.

I was REALLY hoping I'd be able to be relatively lazy with this like I am with my organic grows but apparently I can't or at least shouldn't. Oh well, such is life.

You can't be lazy with hydro. Problems happen fast. You need to be vigilant with monitoring until you have your system dialed in. Even then, pumps go out, algae blooms get out of control quick if your not paying attention.

yea, for sure. I see that now. I guess by "lazy" I meant that I didn't want to have to pull the lid off and check water quality every single day multiple times a day. I was hoping for at least a little bit of set it and forget it, even if that meant just for a few days. I dread the prospect of doing this once the plant gets some weight to it...... Yes, I know about RDWC and all that but this single bucket is just me dipping my toes in the synthetic grow style and I am still not sure that I am OK with how much water I have to just dump down the drain. At the same time, I now realize how naive it is to think that I could get that "dialed in" on my first frakkin attempt. I guess I am still learning that, sure, "weed" is easy to grow but growing good weed is a fucking bitch.

I'll follow up in a couple days so any future readers aren't left hanging.

You'll make it thru. I did a single bucket my first run. 12 zips off one plant of some pretty good bud. I dialed in as I went along. You can get "lazy" once you know how your plants and system react. I know it sucks dumping water all the time, but that's how it goes in single buckets. Especially small ones.

I always grew in single Rubbermaid tubs so much more water volume and just topped up with RO every 3 days. Pails are fine for RDWC but suck for stand-alone grow once the plant gets big and drinks lots. Whole grows without ever changing nutes tho would try to change after the stretch. Weekly changes are just throwing away perfectly good nutes. Check ppm and add small amounts of nutes to stay in your target zone. I used AN nutes so once the pH Perfect ones came out never had to check pH again. A lot less work than growing in pots of dirt. About 50 tubs worth since 2001 when nobody did DWC and I had to invent it for myself. DWC ScroG with one plant is great. Lots of plants in a tub are fun too.

I'm a bit drunk., so I am just going to post some pics i just took as I was doing a water change and I'll save the rambling mess that is in my head for another day. The roots look great but the plant looks meh. However, this will be the first time I've actually done a proper water change since posting this thread so the next update will tell us more.

Not looking too bad so fresh nutes may be just what she needed.

I try not to drink and dose. Tend to mess up my math at times like that. ;)

So, as promised for all the future readers, here are some updated pics. I ran into some grow room constraints that forced me to veg this plant for 2 months instead of 1, so I went ahead and transplanted it to a 17 gallon tote. I flipped to flower on 4/15 and did the transplant on 4/19. I also switched to the "growweedeasy general-hydroponics-flora-trio-guide" at the beginning of April and almos immediately noticed a marked improvement.

Thanks again for all the help.
