Saving Pollen

What are your best methods to store pollen for more than 6 months?
I'm planning to put it in a piece of foil, with rice under to keep the moisture down and then in the freezer.
Your methods?
Just incase: I've known people who stored poller for 3 years, YES, 3 YEARS! So don't say you can store it only for a few months.

I would also like peoples input on this.

I use a pill bottle with a desiccant and keep it in the crisper drawer of fridge. I only save it on average 1-2 months though.
If you still know these people who stored it for 3 years, you should ask them. Alternate method would be to just keep cloning your male if you have room.
