Day 50 Update

Below is a pic taken tonight right after I watered them. The AN plant is up front, and is very impressive. And the organic plants are quite healthy as well.

I'd like to flower them soon, but my flowering closet is full for a couple more weeks. I may need to drop from 24/0 to 18/6 to slow their growth rate a bit.

Looking good, how do you like your LEDs? I'm almost out of my regular hydro nutes so I've been staggering feedings with some AN Mother Earth Tea Bloom. My hydro store guy likes to experiment a lot and did a run with the AN organics but said he got about 20% less yield, so I'm looking forward to see your results!

I love my new LED. It runs much cooler than my 2-foot 8-bulb T5 fixture did. And since I can keep the LED 2 feet above the plants, it's easy to access the plants without the hassle of moving the light.

Hey this is very nice. I've always loved advanced and this shows why. I see you are at 100% of the recommended feeding solution. Few questions. How often do you water? How much does each pot get? Do you see runoff? What's your ppm? What's your ph? You may have answered a few of these questions but I did not catch them as I checked out your grow. Also do you plan on LST them plants? If you tied them tops down they would explode. Looks nice!

The plants are in 5-gallon tan smart pots under the cool-running veg LED. Temps are good at 72-75. And I'm currently watering once every 3-4 days.

I water slowly until I get a bit of runoff. Each pot is getting 1.25-1.5 gallons per feeding. And the frequency and amount of feeding is slowly escalating as the plant grows.

I use plain tap water with the Advanced Nutrients PH Perfect nutes, so I never have to adjust PH. I draw my water from the tap 24 hours before feeding to allow chlorine to evaporate, and our water quality is very good. It measures 50 PPM, and I just follow the AN-suggested feeding quantities. I don't check the PPM after I mix the nutes.

I should LST, but the truth is I'm not very good at it. I usually FIM and SCROG, but I'm not doing a SCROG this grow.

Current AN nutrient solution mix
4 milliliters per liter Connoisseur Grow A
4 milliliters per liter Connoisseur Grow B
2 milliliters per liter B-52 (this is a B-vitamin supplement)

I also used VooDoo Juice when the plants were young.

Very nice. I will work my way to full dose and let you know how they like it. I will be watching your grow. Excellent job.

Day 53 Update

I FIM'ed the plants tonight. Hopefully their growth rate will slow, because my flowering room is unavailable (full) for two more weeks.

I took pics of the bottom of the Smart Pots, to show the difference in the roots of an organic plant vs. the AN plant. The pics are below. The first is the organic plant, and the 2nd is the AN plant.

Day 57 Update

I watered the plants last night. They have completely filled the 32" x 32" veg tent. And it's still another week before the flowering closet will be available.

I think the plants are now too big for all of them to flower in the 3.5' x 3.5' flowering closet. So I've decided to keep one of the organic plants in veg for a mother plant. I'll flower the other organic plant and the AN plant. The organic plants are pretty much identical.

Below is a pic of the organic plant (on the left) and the AN plant.

A few days ago, I wondered if maybe I should sometimes give the AN plant only water (no nutes). So I submitted a question to AN Grower Support on their web site, and their reply was this:

We recommend feeding your plants aggressively, feed every time that they are dry, and monitor for symptoms of over feeding (yellow tips) or lock out (yellow/brown serrated edges, inter veins, curling up on the side of the leaves), if these symptoms develop give them just water the next time that they are dry.

How's things going? Your thread inspired me to run a few tests so I bought a ppm tester and a ph tester. What I've noticed is If you don't mix the nutes full power they are not ph perfect. At full power it was still under 1000 ppm and perfect ph.

Day 65 update (day 1 of flowering)

The flowering closet became available last night, so I moved the plants in there. The organic plant is on the right. In 2-3 days, they'll have the room all to themselves.

By the way, I bought and installed a brand new Hortilux 600-watt Super HPS bulb for the flowering cycle of this grow.

Day 67 Update (day 3 of flowering)

I had to move the plants outside the flowering closet tonight in order to harvest plants behind them. So I took the below pic. The AN plant is on the left.

Day 69 Update (day 5 of flowering)

The plants finally have the flowering room all to themselves. The AN plant is on the left.

I plan to take 2-3 clones apiece from them on day 21 of flowering, for a possible Monster Cropping grow.

Nice, I said AN kicks ass, now you'll be able to see it with your own eyes. Great great journal cannot wait to see the end results!

I'm following the AN-suggested feeding schedule for my AN plant (feeding at 100% suggested strength). The AN feeding schedule for weeks 1 and 2 of the bloom phase is:

4 milliliters per liter Bloom A
4 milliliters per liter Bloom B
2 milliliters per liter VooDoo Juice (for root enhancement)
