Thanks Shwag
Really happy with how they are turning out. Contrary to popular dutch grow beliefs I'm happy with the abundance of healthy leaves from top to bottom "and" I'm going to (try to) keep them green-till-the-end(-ish).
Made some final adjustments, well, final height adjustments anyway, I'll continue to rearrange buds. Every time I look at my own pics I get neurotic tendencies.
Worse, I've been dreaming of a checkerboard-like canopy with indica-dom buds and sativa-dom buds alternating but with the sativas stretching out 5-6 inches above the indicas without blocking all the light because they have them long thin fingers. 4 indicas, with one sativa in the middle, lst-ed/cropped to mingle with the indicas... How's that for a highdea?
Day 31 12/12:
Re-calibrated my EC meter last night, turns out I'm giving them 1250PPM now instead of 1000. Using way more nutes than last round with the Liberty Haze (and one Kolossus too), was around 950 during this phase of the cycle then. I rarely use the meter to determine how much nutes to put in my rez, except for when refreshing of course. Between refreshes, I base the amount of nutes I should add (or the plain water to reduce the nutes level) on it's usage, so whether it went from 1050 to 950ppm over night or 1250-1150 is rather irrelevant to me. I actually look at the PH value the most (EC meter is a pen, PH meter is continuous). If the nutes level is too high, the PH level will drop, and the more it drops, the faster it drops (plant uses more water than nutes so leaves more nutes than water in the rez), and vice versa. I try to go a tad higher than the sweetspot where water and nutes uptake is balanced, which makes the PH drift a bit (good), and allows me to top off with water only, raising PH back from for example 5.6 to 5.8 again, and lowering nutes level at the same time. Besides the refresh of the rez every 7-10 days, I essentially use water to steer the PH and the PPM levels (and rarely a few drops of PH plus/minus).
