Sativa in a closet?

Hi,

I have a closet setup which you can see in the thread listed in my sig. Right now I am growing some autos. When they are in their last month, I want to start some photoperiod plants vegging at the same time. So far, I've only grown indica dominant strains but I would like to do some Sative dominant this time.

I have almost 7' between floor and lamp which means about 5' for plant height. My technique has been to mount a 1' sq screen over each pot when the plant starts flowering and train the plant so that it lies flat on the screen. Sort of a scrog idea but done with a single plant.

Can I do this with a sativa to control the height and get better light coverage?

What sativa strains do people suggest for a closet grow?

Any other advice?

Thanks

I used to grow silver haze in cupboards ;) you can do eet!
set up a lattice and use hair clips to train it if its a closet :)

This might sound brutal, but bend it 90* when she starts getting big, you need to keep it 90* so tie it up, no need for the screen to block the light. It'll grow more branches below the bend so bend before flowering cycle.

@fire & @ granny. Thanks.

What I get from your comments is that by one method or another, a tall sativa can be trained to manage the height in a closet.

Any suggestions for a strain?

call ahead, make sure their fresh and from the plant it advertises. Remember no two seeds are identical and you'll only get 50% success, males etc. Sativa highs are the best for daytime. depends where you are but mexican sativas is my next choice.
