Sativa and Indica in the Same 4x4, Ugh.

Growing 4 plants in a 4x4x8. Two are indica and two are sativa. Growing outside I never considered the height difference. I know the differences, but I thought I could make it work by double topping and trellis training the sativa. Everything was going great until week three from flip.

The indica stopped stretching and is really flowering nicely now. The sativa is still stretching like crazy!, and just now starting to show pre-flower. I'm guessing the sativa will be 16"-18" taller than the indica.

Thank the Weed God's I went with two 350w lights instead of one 700w. Now I'm putting one light higher than the other and trying to balance the PAR spike at the inside of the sativas from the lower light over the indicas.

Anybody have experience managing big height variance in a small tent?

Get some milk crates and put them under the indica pots to raise them up, so they’re roughly the same height, as the sativas. Now you’ve got an even canopy in your garden, no more lights at different heights.

Unfortunately, I put up a trellis net the day before flip. I've done a lot of weaving and tucking so raising them is no longer possible.

I did the same thing luckily I was able to put the indica plant on a bucket

What if you cut the light over the tivas for a day or so and put some less intense light on the side walls and floor that way they will bend over to the light provided and you can weave them closer to the indy height then turn their light back on? Not something I've done before just seems logical in my mind

As soon as the lights come on I'm going to put up a second trellis. I can still do some weaving on the sativa side and just let the indicas grow straight though. I can cut the difference in half for sure.

So much for the level canopy. Three plants under control. One wants to play for the WNBA. I've topped her twice, supercropped, weaver her through two trellis nets, even used garden wire to pull her down. She's having non of that bullshit. 25 days since flip and she's still stretching. The others have stopped.

I had some I had Topped and they were still getting too tall.

I Super Cropped, they were still going, every time they would get too tall even in Bloom. Super Crop.

That doesn't look as bad as I was imagining. But i get the frustration, its never NOT a learning experience, regardless of how many under your belt.

My wife came into the ManCave to check on me this morning and barked..."YUK! Don't EVER unzip that tent when when I'm in here. It STNKS!" I said, "Who invited YOU in here?"

The end of week 4 with a full tent. The sativa's have finally stopped stretching and are starting to fatten up. Compared to outdoors, this tent growing is a pleasure. :D:bigjoint:

EDIT: Bout a pound?
