People claim that but I know differently. Sometimes they just destroy the seeds and send nothing. Other times they crush the seeds and send them onward with a different letter. Just depends on who and when, I guess.

As far as i know Sannie send the seeds very discrete, but sometimes it can take a while thanks to the post mail service.

And it appears he's changing up his shipping to the states, after considering stopping all together. He's about to start charging around $15 for guaranteed shipping and just posted something on his site today. I think he's tired of resending orders, which apparently is happening often for U.S. orders.
How nice, now I have to pay for unnecessary tracking b/c some customers are lying about receiving orders. There's an entire thread on an otherwise dead forum due to this. There is no way in hell that customs all of the sudden would start opening envelopes that look/feel like normal letters. Even if they did, the packaging method is so good it took me 5 minutes to find the beans.

Plus, some of us don't want to sign for anything period.

Sannie's issues are well documented....this has been going on for a few years now. The point though is he doesn't screw you around- he just resends them immediately no questions asked. If you read about it on his web site, he mentions issues with customs, among other things. I for one, am always happy to sign if I know for sure my beans will arrive. If it increases the percentages of receiving them, then i'm all for it........Attitude sends guaranteed seeds without a signature requirement- Sannie is looking into that too.

I've ordered from sannie twice now, and both times I didn't get anything. Had to email sannie both times and both times he re-shipped. He's been really prompt returning emails, but I don't get how my packages are not making it the first time around.

Christ, no wonder he isn't making any $$. I wonder how many other people "lost" their beans and blamed it customs etc.

First of all I have to big up Sannie's again. I had a minor issues with the shipment (not his fault) but he is being more than generous to make up for it. Again not his fault. As for shipping methods, I worked in a store that relied heavily on shipping and learned a couple of things.

1) everything in a business runs on a schedule so
shipments are probably going out at the same time everyday
customs work schedules must be pretty steady
same customs guys are probably looking at the same packages and addresses from the same countries of origin
someone is probably or will eventually be putting the pieces together

2)changing packaging and making up for lost seeds and fraud by customers is expensive so I would pay a fee for better packaging considering this. Matching Attitude's discrete shipping prices might not be the best practice considering they have an edge but an extra $5 on top of what we pay now wouldn't stop me from shopping there.

3) if they handle this correctly it shouldnt be such a big deal to implement a fair price increase

never had a problem with Sannies, i think it depends on their point of entry into the USA, the longest any took was around 2 weeks. That being said, never had a problem with Atttitude nor Dr.Greenrhumb neither. The one and only time I had problem , was with Peak Seeds and they re shipped the order

I was wondering though, if he keeps his method of packaging the same but it's tracked, would that make it look odd for those contents to be tracked from the Netherlands?

Then maybe the problem lies in Sannies shipping dept. Maybe he needs to hire a couple extra guys. I didn't get a letter either time my order came up missing, so I don't think customs got it.

We have used our stealth methods for years with great success but also with problems so now and then, USA customs are hell to pass through and we have fly'd under the radar for a while and still are doing.

We have to re ship the orders to much and thoughts have crossed my mind to stop shipping to the USA.
Problem was also I could not check if a shipment arrived on the address and must trust the customer on his word a order did or did not went through.
If a re shipment does not fall on the doormat its normal for me to give a refund, nice service but on the end we are earning no money anymore.

I have decided to only send outside europe with a track and trace (to sign for) shipment, in this way I can always see if the order got with my customer.

Issue was this shipment method costs 16 euro (instead of 4,5) so I decided to take a part of the shipping costs and the price will be 9,75.
This will be the only shipping method to order seeds in the feature for customers outside europe !

This hopefully will give me and my customers some more peace of mind

Peak has some good gear though, although it took 25 days for him to receive my first cash order...I broke the record. That was the Canadian mail's fault, and he sent me a free pack anyways. Sannie arrived in 4 business days upon order placement, unopened of course.
