..that's exactly why politicians who accept legal bribes from wealthy donors do like they're told when it comes to the vote. They want those bribes to continue flowingMaybe future donations...
We've already established businesses, like individuals, do what is in their own best interest. Their "good ideas" tend to revolve around eliminating regulations that protect the environment, improve working conditions, increase wages, etc., in order to increase profitIt makes sense, also makes sense that if someone is running a business an industry they will have good ideas about what could be done to help them, businesses are not our enemies.
Your responses to these points are incredibly naive. You seem to be under the impression corporations have workers best interests in mind when implementing policy when in reality the complete opposite is true; if they could get away with lower wages, no overtime, no benefits, no sick days, etc., the overwhelming majority of them would do it without a moment of consideration as to how it would affect workers, the only reason they don't is because it's against the law. Even the law doesn't stop them from stealing 2/3 more from workers than burglars steal annually.
I'm not sure why you quoted my post, this response is irrelevant to the point of corporate influence in politicsThe Republicans have strangled any bill that is not aimed to help the Wealthy White Heterosexual Male agenda for decades. Progress is made, but the Russians pushed Trump up on the shoulders of the evangelicals and hate mongers to win the Republicans nomination and suppressed enough Democratic voters to push him over Clinton in 2016. Any of the Democrats brings instant improvement in all those important areas you listed day one.
Republican and Democratic politicians alike accept legal bribes from corporate interests, this gives them more influence over our democracy than what the average voter has, and far more influence over policy and elections than any foreign government could ever dream of having. It comes off as extremely disingenuous to be critical about foreign influence affecting democracy while at the same time essentially ignoring the overwhelming corporate influence that actively subverts it on a routine basis. Any politician that accepts legal bribes from corporate interests is already tainted because they can't be trusted to represent the American people.
Why are you avoiding answering the questions I've asked you twice in previous posts?
-do you believe someone who works full time should earn a living wage?
-do you believe it's reasonable for business owners/executives to earn hundreds to thousands of times more than their average worker?
-in your opinion, during his career, what votes has Bernie Sanders been wrong on?
-if Sanders has not been wrong when casting votes in congress, why then would it be a valid criticism to say that "he hasn't gotten anything done"?
