but you can't buy single components used in these products. now why would you expect the same for stripes?

You don't buy any of those things "direct" from Samsung. You buy them from dealers and resellers.

Yes actually, they are. They require a fixture to mount them in and a driver to power them. They are but one component in a lighting system. They are not intended for direct sales to the end user. They are intended for sale to manufacturers of finished luminaires.
Well, doesn't really work that way in the US. But point taken.
hasn't samsung once tried copying the apple stores (like everything else apple does)?
