Samsung F Strip Build

Do any of you know of any retailers that sell extruded aluminum rails that could be used for making the light frames? I've been looking at this on Amazon but I'm curious if there are any cheaper alternatives. I know I can go with angle aluminum, if I want to cut the cost even more, but I really like the look and rigidity of the extruded aluminum rails.

This is what I'm going to buy if I can't find anything cheaper.

Seems yours is cheaper, maybe have a look around the site. Not currently shipping until SAH order lifts.

Thanks for the links! I'm going to order the heatsinks, separately, early next month since the rest of my strips won't be due until mid-May at the earliest. I just wanted to get my frames built so I can assemble everything once the back ordered parts come in. I just ordered those from Amazon, along with 90 deg t-slot brackets, and they should be here on Friday.

Doesn't cutter also sell heatsinks for their strips?

I just searched their site and I only see two heatsinks offered. I was just going to order these.

I'm aware you were going to just order those. that's why I quoted your post where you say, "Thanks for the links! I'm going to order the heatsinks, separately, early next month since the rest of my strips won't be due until mid-May at the earliest."
I just thought they had heatsinks available with these strips.

Sorry, I misunderstood. But I also also didn’t order my strips from Cutter, I ordered them fro DigiKey. FedEx has been refusing to deliver them, though, so I’m about to just drive over to their distribution center today to pick the damn things up. I was promised they would be here yesterday but they still never left the distribution center, a few towns away, for the 3rd day in a row.

Thanks! I was just going to go with angle aluminum, but I figured the extra cost wasn’t a huge difference, and that I can make them better balanced and more rigid with the extruded beams.
Not gonna lie, heatsinks make a world of difference as far as the overall appearance of your build. Angle aluminum is wonderful for a perimeter or any framing, but as heatsinks, Nah.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I'm not using the extruded aluminum beams as heatsinks. I'm using them only to build the frame for the light. Each strip will have it's own extruded aluminum heatsink. I'm going to try to draw up my plain in sketchup and will post a screenshot if I get it build in there. It's been years since I've used scketchup so it may take me bit to show anything.
