Can ice wax be red? I've seen some red extracts in the past but wasn't aware bubble could be red. I made some redish qwiso one time but that was when I extracted from hash. What are the best extraction methods to yield tthe red color thc?
Yes it can be. If it aged like 5 years it can turn to red shatter. Or if the plant you used to extract from is very mature and has all dark amber trichomes. People are starting to harvest at as early as 45 days on and blasting the fresh frozen live resin. The result should be a very terpy super clear resin. As opposed to the mature gets darker the more mature it gets, even to the point of being reddish and amber.

ive done something similar with fresh buds and pyrex
but it came out more like scissor hash

get 2 13x9 pyrex dishes
and put them in the oven at 170 (lowest temp in my oven)
once preheated, remove one dish and pour trim or buds into dish and take the other pyrex and put it on top of the material
making a pyrex/ bud sandwich

quickly apply pressure for about a minute
remove all the smashed buds and scrape up the leftovers that stick to the pyrex
mine didn't look like theres though lol

Hmmm.... if you're pressing the nug and bursting the trichs it seems to me that the plant matter would absorb a lot that doesn't make it to the paper. It probably absorbs more than what makes it to the paper. A lot more. So I can't see yield percentages being as high as some claim.

And.... such a waste...unless you're smoking the pressed nug after, which would probably be pretty gross.

To me, this is taking an otherwise perfectly fine frosty nugget and turning it into half one thing and half the other, both of which are inferior to the original...

Imagine for a second someone that is able to grow small scale, but can't afford and doesn't want to fuck with a CLS or sifting or running iwe. And can't afford 30-50/g for extracts. Someone with ADD or chronic pain or serious illness.

Imagine this person having to smoke and oz of flower every week or two to help their condition. That is a lot of plant material to be combusting. Flower rosin would be a godsend to people like this. And guess what? You can take the pressed buds and throw em in with your duff and use it for edibles.

Shit I used to run an oz though the volcano every week unitl I got chronic pleurisy from it and had to go back to joints and bowls for a long time before I moved to Co.

Fair enough. I dont like smokin a lot of lumber either so i like the extracts as well. And all i said is this method seems wasteful, unless the pressed bud is being used and that what is extracted isnt as good as it could be.

For me...the quickest, easiest, cleanest and most natural method is dry ice hash. Shake out a few ounces in an hour, let it dry a few minutes, press it up or not, a very high exraction rate, higher potency...and there ya go...no butane residue, no buckets and spilled water and waiting and so on.... and the left over is still good for cooking

Dry Ice Hash isn't dabbable at all not even close, its some of the harshest extraction you can do the dry ice rapes the crystals and the leafs and you get soooo much plant material in your extraction. Learn to make bubble hash its so much better than dry ice hash and you can actually dab it if you do it right and press it out into slabs.

Ive had some great bubble made by friends. And i tried making it...didnt do so well... So there is a good deal of skill involved that requires some time, trial and error for good bubble.

I have to differ on the dry ice hash tho... ive been a has fiend for 30+ years and the dry ice hash is as tasty/smooth as anything i have ever smoked. And while some plant matter always ends up in it, ive got it down well enough to keep mine better than 99% pure. The trick is simply dont get greedy and stop shakin when you see the first consistent bits of green coming out. Better than most grades of bubble...but not all of course.

Imo fresh of the plant material will help get a more pure dry Ice hash, and you only need to shake it for a couple seconds using the 220 bag, Iv made shit you can dab with dry ice
Zactly. I use fresh trim...or even some fresh premium nugs ripped up at times...

I went to a 180 screen and that helped too...

I'm messing around with a new method I created the other day. It seems to have worked and it took no skills and no labor to make. All you need is bubble bags. Find my thread " bubble hash - alpha tech" - I'll update with more info as I go along and make some changes.

have you guys seen the newest hash church. You can make rosin from 25µ , 160µ and 190µ bubble. They show how to do it in hash church.like at the 20 min mark. (4 hour episode). You dont have to throw away the non melts anymore.. Just place the hash between the 25µ pressing screen that comes with your bags. Then place that between parchment. Then use the flat iron the same way.. They're all getting a 55% return. The reason for how rosin came about is explained as well on there.

I have around 2 zips of 25µ and 160µ from all the batches I made. I've used it just for edibles.. I barely use it. So it just sits in a jar for forever

I didn't finish watching it but that is the first thing I thought of when this rosin tech showed up. I have a bunch of b grade non melt dry sift and I can make it into rosin and dab it. Someone should of thought of this 20 years ago lol.

Right on hyroot, I will check out the video for sure as I'm sitting on some so/so hash that's not been used as well. Thanks for the Idea! 55% would be GREAT

I tried it with a half gram of 25µ and got 2 fat dabs. Not all the oil made it through the screen. I think that's because the iron I used is a 400w. In the hash church they use a 230w. You have to clean the screen each time too. The left over was just like cake. The dabs were very smooth and better tasting than the 25µ. The 25µ bubble was no melt. The rosin was full melt. . The rosin was medium dark brown. Same color.as the bubble. I tried it with a nug. Got nothing. I'm low on flowers so I don't want to waste any trying other strains. Just incase I dont get any.

Nice! I tried it a couple times with bud and only got a little tiny dab each time, I know I'm screwing something up or not pressing it hard enough so I gave up :p I'll have to check what wattage the iron I used was, that's goot to know 230w is the winning number. Can't wait to try it with some hash :) maybe later today I'll give it a shot again

Can't wait to get my hair straighter to try this with old brick hash and buds. Hell I'll try with shake as well.
