Sagging branches at week 5 in flower

Too much weed on the branches? I didn't even think this was possible for me, since this is my first grow, but some of the lower branches have started to sag, and I'm afraid the branches themselves aren't strong enough for the weight... should I tie them to a more prominent upper branch to give support?

I guess the idea is to get them as much light and air as possible. If you think tying them closer to the stalk will get them more light and air then try it. Personally I think since you have room, I'd let them stretch out and grow they will probably get more light and air if left to do their own thing. Your plants look great!!

They will start weighing down the branch you tie them too as well.

You should get a wooden dowel, or some half inch PVC pipe, and use it as a stake, to which you can tie the brancxhes using twine.

The stake goes right down into your pot, In your case, you may want to build a stand of sorts to stabilise it!

Good luck.

thanks for the suggestions... I think the circular tomato trellices are good, but its too late in the game for that.... although the idea is what i think I need. Maybe I'll pick up a few dowels tomorrow, and I could even wrap some string around the perimeter to harnesss the branches.

Yeah I'm thinking maybe since they are lower branches they don't get as much fan action... resulting in less strong branches. I'm gonna wait it out another day and see what happens

Nice plant for your first grow! I love it when you have to tie up branches cause the buds are to heavy....always puts a smile on my face! Ok heres what I like to do....buy the bamboo sticks from home depot or lowes ($2-$3) in the garden area and tape them around your pot where you need them putting enough tape so they dont move easy. I like the bamboo myself cause there cheap and break off into sections easy. I like to tape the pot because I dont really like pushin through the roots.

Thanks for the props! Its been a rocky road, but I'm stoked on the results..

re:bamboo sticks: great solution... I was also a little worried about stakes or dowels in my soil as I'm sure my roots are pretty expansive at this point. Thanks for the tip!

just bought some bamboo branches and some zip ties, but I think I'm just gonna use twine with the bamboo... and some duct tape for the outside of the pot. Will post more pics later when the lady wakes up...
