Safest automated watering system

I tried DWC once but I struggled with pythium, tried both sterile and bennies and both failed, it was too hot. Now I got a cooler environment but still it's a struggle to keep room temp below 20C. I thought about autopot since it's one way to the plants and the roots are not in the water, but then again I guess it can still develop in the res anyway.

Any ideas on automation where I can avoid pythium?

Just use a sterilisation product .

I have reservoirs in tent and never get any issues and I don't run anything to sterilise.
Apart from between crops

Did you try non sterile dwc.you load it up with predator bacteria and they eat every living thing in the bucket. I have 2 bags one is mycelium other forgot its name but it has 50 different bacteria.only problem raises ph to a perfect 6.4 doesnt move from there if you over populate it

You will want your room temp higher than 20. Especially if you run led.
Your pathogens are most likely in your water. I have not found the silver bullet. But sterile treatments or benny's is the go to.

About to set up my Tropf Blumat stuff for a long weekend away. Solid choice... I've run it with Maxibloom & H&G Dripclean for months at a time as needed. I'm in Promix HP rather than coco or regular soil.

I haven’t tried blumats so can’t comment but hear they work great, but can drain the res if not set up correctly. I started with dwc but quickly changed to bato buckets in a recirculating res with coco/perlite. Worked great but I wanted to try organic. I now grow in sips and they work very well, give them a look if you haven’t yet. There is no perfect or best, just what fits with a persons growing style and needs. If your looking for the most hands off automated for cheap go with either blumat or sips imho.

Boil your water before assembling your blumats and you shouldn't have any problems.
