S.O.S. Frisian Dew is down

Background: These are just one week from starting germination. All of my seedlings seem to be going strong. I had issues at first and had to transplant to new soil because I noticed my first seedling mix wasn't holding any water at all. I didn't water yesterday, just misted the soil surface a little to keep it moist. The cups were still heavy so I wanted to give them a little bit before watering again. Anyways... yesterday they were looking good, I just switched last night from 24/0 to 18/6, using two 4ft T8 6500k lights, placed a few inches above them. This plant is still in the original mix. I never transplanted it because it was the only one that seemed to like it, and the mix was seeming to hold water because of the weight in the cup. I noticed this morning, the stem was kind of weak looking and partially pinched. I went back about 4 hours later and she was completely bent over

Any help would be appreciated!

First picture is them last night (problem plant is middle solo cup), second picture is it this afternoon, third is my makeshift fix for the meantime.

Can you fill dirt in the cup around where it bent over to support it

imo/ application of some red light 2700k would heal this faster

red light encourages stem growth, but

maybe not a good move if you are in a cab

but will heal faster

the real issue here is the soil mix, add 30% perlite come potup

will encourage a lot more needed air to that mix

I suspect there too much peat in this mix that will hold water ..hence will hold excess nutes

ensure you have ample drainage, in the short term

Thanks for the help guys. I'll Add some dirt to give it more support. I noticed compared to other people, my plants seem to be pretty small and stems seem really thin. Should I add a fan to my closet this early? Am I over watering or something that's holding them back? I suspect the temps just aren't optimal. It had been cold outside but around 67-70 in my room. Once the sun comes back out and it gets out of the 40s, I think they'll bounce back.

I was wondering though, what could be the cause of this? It seems like a weak/floppy stem caused it to bend a little and "kinked the hose" and it was eventually turned into it completely falling over

Excess water and cold will slow things a lot

its a serious 'kink' in that stem

I suggest it may have had a knock

recovered then failed

to be caught by you in time ..lol

not to be confused with 'DAMPING OFF'

that is a fungi infection that start at the base and works up the stem over time

a horrid experience for any new grower

Thanks, I was reading and came across some Damping off articles. My stomache sank when I saw I could lose my whole crop with all the horror stories. It's kind of like when you go on webMD and look up the symptoms of your cold. Next thing you know, you're just self-diagnosed with malaria

in my case the zitka virus ...lol

The rest of the plant looks far too healthy for it to have damped off, and they usually fall over at the soil level when this happens. I agree that it looks like it was damaged.

I guess on the bright side is that I caught it early and if it recovers, it should come back strong =P It's crazy... not even four hours before that completely bent picture, it was just slightly kinked like 10 degrees.
